INTRODUCTION
The internship is an integral platform for anyone to gain experience in an actual
workplace. Thus, our architectural internship is a good opportunity for us to learn, to
gain experience and also to make preparation. We encounter many difficulties and
obstacles, and with experiences we are expected to encourage and complete the
cleansing process. Through this opportunity we find ourselves stable enough to face
the responsibilities of practicality. Applying the knowledge, we learnt in college to an
actual workplace helps me to know and discover myself from different angle. It also
helps me to control my attitude and behavior in dealing with different kinds of people
and situation.
Through learning in university, I learnt theoretically but by doing internship, I learnt
the practical approach on dealing with the real world. It has profound results in some
aspects of my learnings. I also have learned that I am still lacking as an employee.
Internship helped me to identify my weaknesses and strengths.
During my 5 months of internship, I actively contributed to the company’s objectives
by applying the knowledge I obtained during my first 3.5 years of graduation. I chose
EAS panjim as my host firm to complete my internship. Further, the projects I have
worked upon during my internship and my contribution to them are mentioned with
my understandings.
ABOUT THE OFFICE
The office I worked in was based in the heart of Panjim city, Goa. Lead by Ar. Milind
Ramani, EAS (Effective Architectural Services) it is one of the most promising
architectural firm of the region. Specialized in large scale projects, EAS handled a
number of sites smoothly with a sharp and dedicated team of 22 employees with 1
head architect, 1 project manager, 3 senior architects, 2 civil engineers, 3
estimators, 5 junior architects, 5 trainees and other fellow staff. Office’s friendly
environment was really suitable for any trainee to learn and begin with their
professional life. The work process of EAS includes a lot of creative activities,
reading, brainstorming, healthy discussions with clients and fellow architects. The
office premises had a library to help go through better designs and productivity. This
all helped me a lot to grow through my internship period.
THE ARCHITECT AND DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Architect Milind Ramani completed his post-graduation in
Urban Design from Centre for Environmental and
Technology University, and now is CEO of Effective
Architectural Services and Heading search for
environmentally sound solutions for urban domain.
He established EAS in Jan 1996. Most of his designs are
of Mixed-use category. Applying locally available materials
to the buildings. He has been rewarded with national

minimalism and maintains symmetric designs. On
residential level of projects, he has shown tremendous work for support of green
buildings in the environment. His decision-making power helps him manage a
number of projects on the go with solution to every problem the clients faced.
Ramani sir’s way of interaction with client is self sufficient to make clients trust him.
His 25+ years’ experience shows his comfort in handling large scale projects such as
urban complexes and colleges.
