Description of intervention
 Firstly, elderly will be assessed for knee joint pain with the help of knee pain assessment

 The sample then, will be divided into experimental and control group.
 Then, the level of pain will be assessed in experimental and control group by using numeric
pain rating scale.
 The researcher will explain the procedure to the experimental group verbally.
 The procedure is scheduled in one time per day with the duration of 15 minutes. Mustard
powder 20gram with 40gm of wheat flour will be mixed in Luke warm water and the
paste is spread over a flannel cloth which is double folded and then applied to the knee
joint for 7 days. A hot water bottle (110 ◦F) will be placed on the mustard plaster to apply
heat to the knee joint.
 Within one day of application of mustard plaster upon knee joint pain may not be
reduced. So the post test will be conducted after the completion of 7 days of topical
