Percy Talbot has just been released from a five year
prison sentence for manslaughter. She is trying to find a
place for a fresh start, and based on a page from an old
travel book, travels to the small town of Gilead, Wisconsin.
The spitfire grill is based on an original film in 1996. It was
directed and written by lee David Zlotof. The film was not
reviewed very high and people were left with a mixed bag
of emotions about it. The musical was reviewed much
better as people enjoyed the musical much more, I had a
family member attend it in 2017 and she had this to say
about it, “the spitfire grill musical brought me to edge of
my seat” .
North coast repertory theatre had showing in may of
2017 that had people of very fond of the musical. Jean
lowerison had excellent things to say, “ I thought “The
Spitfire Grill” would be just another yee-haw
country/western musicale about life in a small town. I’m
happy to report that it’s a lot more than that” . Jeff B. Moss
had a terrific cast of singer that really helped capture the
audiences heart. The Musical was extended to July so that
shows how popular it was in the southern California area.
They received reviews how they put their own twist on it
and was very well received.
The musical was very positively reviewed by The
Anchorage Daily news. Described in the review was the set was
very well set up and provided a great space to perform. The
actors were highly praised for their raw ability to sing the songs
like they should have. Spitfire grill was full of great emotion but
did not cross the line of being over [Link] review’s also
stated that they had good fresh twist on it as it was an older play
but was rejuvenated. This production was put on at Cyrano’s
theatre in Anchorage, Alaska in the month of July in 2018.
