MY FINISHED LAPBOOK OF THE GOSPELS OF THE BIBLE!!
The Gospels are the first four books in the New Testament. They
are the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These books tell
of the life of Jesus Christ. They tell of His ministry and of His
miracles performed while on Earth. They also tell of His death and
His Resurrection.
Matthew:
Matthew was a Roman tax collector who Jesus told to follow him.
Matthew 9:9-13 speaks of when Jesus tells Matthew to follow him.
9 As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the
tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me." So he arose and followed Him.
10 Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many
tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. 11
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, "Why does your
Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?"
12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need
of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: 'I
desire mercy and not sacrifice. 'For I did not come to call the righteous, but
sinners, to repentance."

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was
betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of
the Holy Spirit. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not
wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord
appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to
take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy
Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus,
for He will save His people from their sins."
22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord
through the prophet, saying: 23 "Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and
bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel," which is translated,
"God with us."
24 Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord
commanded him and took to him his wife, 25 and did not know her till she
had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name Jesus.
"Behold, the virgin shall be with child,
and bear a Son, and they shall call His
1 name Immanuel," which is translated,
"God with us."
His death is a harsh one, especially for a KING! He was beaten and
made to wear a crown of thorns. He was made fun of by the soldiers
and His clothes were cast for lots. He then had to carry His cross to
where He would be crucified. Then He was hung on the cross.
1
Luke:
Luke was a doctor and a traveling companion to Paul. (Colossians
4:14). Paul stated: “Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet
you.” Paul also stated in 2 Timothy 4:11 “Only Luke is with me.”
Luke was also the author of another book in the New Testament,
Acts.
John:
John was known as the “Beloved Disciple.” He was the apostle that
Jesus loved so much. He was son of Zebedee. He was also a
fisherman.
John 13:23 describes John as the following:
23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of His disciples,
whom Jesus loved.
Mark:
Mark traveled with Paul and Barnabas (Acts 15:36-40). He spent a
lot of time with Peter, who called him “my son,” according to 1Peter
5:13. He has been identified as Peter’s interpreter. He was often
described as “in the book.”

The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ:
The Bible mentions Christ is risen in Matthew 28:1-8, Mark 16:1-8,
Luke 24:1-12, and John 20:1-18. After Jesus was died on the cross,
He was seen walking around with his disciples. Jesus, then went to
sit at the right hand of the throne of God!! He is alive in our hearts.
He can save you and wants a personal relationship with you. He
wants to be your best friend.
JOHN 20:1-18
The Empty Tomb
1 Now the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early,
while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the
tomb. 2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple,
whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken away the Lord out of
the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him." 3 Peter therefore
went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb. 4 So they both
ran together, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first. 5
And he, stooping down and looking in, saw the linen cloths lying there; yet he
did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the
tomb; and he saw the linen cloths lying there, 7 and the handkerchief that had
been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a
place by itself. 8 Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in
also; and he saw and believed. 9 For as yet they did not know the Scripture,
that He must rise again from the dead. 10 Then the disciples went away again
to their own homes.
1 " Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In
My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may
be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know."
5 Thomas said to Him, "Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how
can we know the way?" 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
1
23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, "How hard it is for
those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!" 24 And the disciples
were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them,
"Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of
God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a
rich man to enter the kingdom of God."26 And they were greatly astonished,
saying among themselves, "Who then can be saved?" 27 But Jesus looked at
them and said, "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all
things are possible." 28 Then Peter began to say to Him, "See, we have left all
and followed You." 29 So Jesus answered and said, " Assuredly, I say to you,
there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or
wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, 30 who shall not
receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and
mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come,
eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last first."
Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and
love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You
cannot serve both God and money
7 " Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will
be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds,
and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you
who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish,
will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good
gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give
good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want men to
do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
9 " So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he
who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for
bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a
fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg,
will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good
gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy
Spirit to those who ask Him!"

THE COMING OF THE SON OF MAN IS TALKED ABOUT IN
LUKE 21:25-28, MATTHEW 24:29-31, AND MARK 13:24-27.
THIS IS TALKING ABOUT JESUS’ SECOND RETURN.
LUKE 21:25-28 The Coming of the Son of Man
25"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the
earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26
men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which
are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then
they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28
Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads,
because your redemption draws near."
MATTHEW 24:29-31
29"Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the
powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will
appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will
see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great
glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and
they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other.
MARK 13:24-27
24 "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the
moon will not give its light; 25 the stars of heaven will fall, and the powers in
the heavens will be shaken. 26 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in
the clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then He will send His angels,
and gather together His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of
earth to the farthest part of heaven.

THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS TALKED ABOUT IN
JOHN 16:5-15. JESUS CALLS THE HOLY SPIRIT “THE
HELPER.” THE HOLY SPIRIT IS COMING TO HELP THE
APOSTLES.
The Work of the Holy Spirit
5 " But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, 'Where
are You going ' 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled
your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go
away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart,
I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not
believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me
no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. 12 " I still
have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However,
when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He
will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak;
and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of
what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine.
Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

THE PARABLE OF THE WICKED VINEDRESSERS IS IN
MATTHEW 21:33-46 AND IN MARK 12:1-12. THIS IS JESUS
TALKING AGAINST THE RELIGIOUS LEADERS.
MARK 12:1-12 The Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers
33 " Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a
vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower.
And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. 34 Now when
vintage- time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they
might receive its fruit. 35 And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one,
killed one, and stoned another. 36 Again he sent other servants, more than the
first, and they did likewise to them. 37 Then last of all he sent his son to them,
saying, 'They will respect my son ' 38 But when the vinedressers saw the son,
they said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize
his inheritance.' 39 So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and
killed him. 40 " Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will
he do to those vinedressers?" 41 They said to Him, "He will destroy those
wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will
render to him the fruits in their seasons." 42 Jesus said to them, " Have you
never read in the Scriptures: 'The stone which the builders rejected Has
become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord's doing, And it is marvelous
in our eyes'?" 43 "Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken
from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. 44 And whoever falls
on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to
powder." 45 Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables,
they perceived that He was speaking of them. 46 But when they sought to lay
hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a
prophet.
THE NEW TESTAMENT TALKS OF A GREAT TRIBULATION.
MATTHEW 24:15-28 AND MARK 13:14-23 DESCRIBES HOW
THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY HARD TIME FOR EVERYONE
ON EARTH. IT WILL BE SO BAD THAT GOD HAS TO
SHORTEN THE DAYS OR NO ONE WOULD SURVIVE.
MATTHEW 24:15-28
MARK 13:14-23
14 " So when you see the 'abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel the
prophet, standing where it ought not" (let the reader understand), "then let
those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 15 Let him who is on the
housetop not go down into the house, nor enter to take anything out of his
house. 16 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 17 But
woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those
days! 18 And pray that your flight may not be in winter. 19 For in those days
there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the
creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be. 20 And unless
the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's
sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days. 21 " Then if anyone says to you,
'Look, here is the Christ! ' or, 'Look, He is there! ' do not believe it. 22 For
false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to
deceive, if possible, even the elect. 23 But take heed; see, I have told you all
things beforehand.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
THE PARABLE OF THE LOST SON IS TOLD IN LUKE 15:11-
31. THIS STORY IS ABOUT A SON WHO WANTS HIS
INHERITANCE FROM HIS FATHER. ONCE HE GETS IT, HE
BLOWS ALL HIS MONEY. THEN HE HAS NO MONEY TO
EAT. SO HE GOES HOME TO HIS DAD. THE SON IS SO SAD
THAT HE EVEN TELLS HIS FATHER THAT HE ISN’T GOOD
ENOUGH TO BE CALLED HIS SON. HIS FATHER IS SO
EXCITED TO SEE HIM THAT HE THROWS HIM A PARTY.
THIS MAKES HIS BROTHER MAD BUT THE DAD EXPLAINS
THAT EVERYTHING HE OWNS WILL BE HIS ONE DAY, AND
THEY MUST REJOICE OVER THE SON WHO WAS LOST.
THE MEANING BEHIND THIS IS THAT THE SON IS A LOST
SINNER. THE FATHER IS GOD. HE REJOICES EVERYTIME
A SINNER TURNS BACK TO HIM.
11 Then He said:" A certain man had two sons. 12 And the younger of them
said to his father, "Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me. ' So
he divided to them his livelihood. 13 And not many days after, the younger
son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his
possessions with prodigal living. 14 But when he had spent all, there arose a
severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. 15 Then he went and
joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to
feed swine. 16 And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that
the swine ate, and no one gave him anything. 17 " But when he came to
himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough
and to spare, and I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father,
and will say to him, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, 19
and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your
hired servants." ' 20 " And he arose and came to his father. But when he was
still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell
on his neck and kissed him. 21 And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned
against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your
son. '
22 " But the father said to his servants, 'Bring out the best robe and put it on
him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. 23 And bring the
fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; 24 for this my son was
dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found. ' And they began to be
merry. 25 " Now his older son was in the field. And as he came and drew near
to the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants
and asked what these things meant. 27 And he said to him, 'Your brother has
come, and because he has received him safe and sound, your father has killed
the fatted calf. ' 28 " But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his
father came out and pleaded with him. 29 So he answered and said to his
father, 'Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed
your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat,
that I might make merry with my friends. 30 But as soon as this son of yours
came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf
for him. ' 31 " And he said to him, 'Son, you are always with me, and all that I
have is yours. 32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for
your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found. '"
WE HAVE FINISHED THE FIRST 2 FOLDERS (WITH THE
EXCEPTION OF THE DID YOU KNOW SECTION)!!! SO LET’S
GET STARTED WITH OUR THIRD AND LAST FOLDER.
LET’S TALK ABOUT THE PARABLE OF THE WISE AND
FOOLISH VIRGINS WHICH IS IN MATTHEW 25:1-13. IN THIS
PARABLE THERE ARE 10 VIRGINS, 5 FOOLISH AND 5 WISE.
ALL HAVE GONE OUT TO MEET THE BRIDEGROOM
(JESUS). ALL FELL ASLEEP WAITING FOR HIM. WHEN HE
WAS ARRIVING THEY ALL WAKE UP. THE FOOLISH
BROUGHT NO OIL FOR THEIR LAMPS (HOLY SPIRIT)
WHILE THE WISE DID. THE MORAL IS TO STAY PRAYED
UP AND IN THE PRESENCE OF JESUS.
1 " Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their
lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Now five of them were wise,
and five were foolish. 3 Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no
oil with them, 4 but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 But
while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. 6 " And at
midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet
him! ' 7 Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the
foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.
' 9 But the wise answered, saying, ' No, lest there should not be enough for us
and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves. ' 10 And
while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went
in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. 11 " Afterward the other
virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us! ' 12 But he answered and
said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you. ' 13 " Watch therefore, for
you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

THE SEPARATION OF SHEEP FROM THE GOATS IS IN
MATTHEW 25:31-46. THIS IS GOD SEPARATING HIS
CHILDREN (SHEEP) FROM THOSE WHO ARE NOT HIS
(GOATS).
The Son of Man Will Judge the Nations
31 "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with
Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. 32 All the nations will be
gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a
shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His
right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then the King will say to those on His
right hand, 'Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared
for you from the foundation of the world:35 for I was hungry and you gave
Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took
Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I
was in prison and you came to Me. ' 37 " Then the righteous will answer Him,
saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give
You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and
clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You? '
40 And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you,
inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to
Me. ' 41 " Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me,
you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:42
for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no
drink; 43 I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not
clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.' 44 " Then they also
will answer Him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a
stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You? ' 45 Then
He will answer them, saying, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not
do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me. ' 46 And these will go
away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

THE PARABLE OF THE WEDDING FEAST IS IN MATTHEW
22:1-14. MANY ARE INVITED TO A WEDDING. NO ONE HAS
TIME TO ATTEND. SO THE MAN HOSTING THE WEDDING
INVITES OTHER PEOPLE. THIS IS THE WEDDING FEAST
OF JESUS. MANY ARE INVITED. BUT PEOPLE GET BUSY
WITH EVERYDAY LIFE AND TAKE THEIR EYES OFF OF
JESUS. THESE WILL NOT BE WORTHY TO ATTEND.
The Parable of the Wedding Feast
1 And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said:2 " The
kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son,
3 and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and
they were not willing to come. 4 Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell
those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted
cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding." ' 5 But they
made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his
business. 6 And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed
them. 7 But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his
armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he said
to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not
worthy. 9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to
the wedding. ' 10 So those servants went out into the highways and gathered
together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was
filled with guests. 11 " But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a
man there who did not have on a wedding garment. 12 So he said to him, him,
'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment? ' And he was
speechless. 13 Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot,
take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.' 14 " For many are called, but few are chosen."

KNOWING THE TIMES WE ARE IN IS VERY IMPORTANT.
JESUS TALKED ABOUT THAT IN MATTHEW 24:3-14, IN
LUKE 21:7-19, AND MARK 13:3-13. JESUS GIVES A LIST OF
WHAT TO WATCH FOR. HE EVEN TELLS THEM THAT
THEY WERE GOING TO BE TAKEN IN FRONT OF RULERS
AND KINGS. BUT WE MUST ENDURE IT TILL THE END.
MATTHEW 24:3-14 The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately,
saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your
coming, and of the end of the age?" 4 And Jesus answered and said to them:"
Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name,
saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars
and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must
come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and
kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and
earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9 "
Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated
by all nations for My name's sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will
betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets
will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the
love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a
witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
MARK 13:3-13 The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James,
John, and Andrew asked Him privately, 4 "Tell us, when will these things be?
And what will be the sign when all these things will be fulfilled?" 5 And Jesus,
answering them, began to say:" Take heed that no one deceives you. 6 For
many will come in My name, saying, "I am He, ' and will deceive many. 7 But
when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled; for such
things must happen, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against
nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in
various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the
beginnings of sorrows. 9 " But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver
you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be
brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10 And
the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11 But when they arrest
you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you
will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you
who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12 Now brother will betray brother to death,
and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause
them to be put to death. 13 And you will be hated by all for My name's sake.
But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
LUKE 21:7-19 The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
7 So they asked Him, saying, "Teacher, but when will these things be? And
what sign will there be when these things are about to take place?" 8 And He
said:" Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name,
saying, 'I am He, ' and, 'The time has drawn near. ' Therefore do not go after
them. 9 But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for
these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately."
10 Then He said to them, " Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom
against kingdom. 11 And there will be great earthquakes in various places,
and famines and pestilences; and there will be fearful sights and great signs
from heaven. 12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you
and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will
be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake. 13 But it will turn out
for you as an occasion for testimony. 14 Therefore settle it in your hearts not
to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; 15 for I will give you a
mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or
resist. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and
friends; and they will put some of you to death. 17 And you will be hated by
all for My name's sake. 18 But not a hair of your head shall be lost. 19 By
your patience possess your souls.
NO ONE KNOWS WHEN OUR LORD, JESUS, WILL RETURN.
SO WE ARE TO KEEP WATCH AT ALL TIMES. BUT HE DID
GIVES US LITTLE CLUES TO KEEP WATCH FOR. IT IS IN
MATTHEW 24:36-44, AND IN MARK 13:32-37.
MARK 13:32-37 No One Knows the Day or Hour
32 " But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven,
nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Take heed, watch and pray; for you do
not know when the time is. 34 It is like a man going to a far country, who left
his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and
commanded the doorkeeper to watch. 35 Watch therefore, for you do not
know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at
the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning— 36 lest, coming suddenly, he
find you sleeping. 37 And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"
36 " But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven,
but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming
of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating
and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah
entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all
away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in
the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding
at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do
not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master
of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have
watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be
ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

The Beatitudes
13 " You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be
seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled
underfoot by men. 14 " You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a
hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket,
but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your
light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your
Father in heaven.
8 " Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have
need of before you ask Him. 9 In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in
heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive
us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into
temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and
the power and the glory forever. Amen.
19 " Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust
destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves
treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves
do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will
be also.
43 " For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good
fruit. 44 For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs
from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. 45 A good man
out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of
the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the
heart his mouth speaks.
23 Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny
himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. 24 For whoever desires to
save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. 25
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself
destroyed or lost? 26 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him
the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His
Father's, and of the holy angels.
LUKE 18:9-14 The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9 Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were
righteous, and despised others:10 " Two men went up to the temple to pray,
one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed
thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men—
extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a
week; I give tithes of all that I possess. ' 13 And the tax collector, standing afar
off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying,
'God, be merciful to me a sinner! ' 14 I tell you, this man went down to his
house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be
humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
JOHN 3:36 36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who
does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on
him."
JOHN 6:37-40 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one
who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from
heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the
will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose
nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him
who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have
everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
JOHN 8:34-36 34 Jesus answered them, " Most assuredly, I say to you,
whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the
house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you
free, you shall be free indeed.
JOHN 10:27-30 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they
follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither
shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them
to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My
Father's hand. 30 I and My Father are one."
