Customized Customer's Mapping: (Special Problem)

The document discusses customizing customer mapping for a company. It involves writing a program to convert customer address data from Excel into geographic coordinates, then mapping the coordinates on Google Earth using different icons to represent customer categories based on revenue. The author downloads customer data from a reporting system, divides customers into categories, and uses Excel formulas to assign coordinate locations and icons for mapping in Google Earth. This will help identify high and low revenue areas to inform management decisions.

Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find a way to see all the customers of company on the map by
identifying the software, tools and programs which will convert the address data of company’s
customers in to the coordinates then automatically will map them on the google earth identifying
the low, high revenue areas and market segmentation. It will help the management to take decisions
on the basis of geographical maps. Which is quite easy to understand than theoretical data.

KEY things I have to do to meet the research requirement

1-Have to write a program to convert Excel data of addresses to coordinates
2- using Google earth mapping tools i will map the coordinates on google earth with different symbols
according to revenue or other categories
3- I will identify the businesses who should record data on the customer coordinates addresses and
how this change will transforms their business

I just downloaded the customer report From Management Reporting system.

Categories Revenue ICON on Google Earth

Drag it down to the end to find out the category of all the customers in file

=if(F2<=1000,111,if(AND(F2>1000,F2<=2500),112,if(F2>2500,113)))

Quick Start for Uploading Data:

 Open Excel.
 Enter these words into separate cells on the first row: "Latitude", "Longitude", "Name",
"Description", and "Icon".
 On the rows that follow, enter the attributes of each point.
 "Latitude" and "Longitude" are required. The other columns are optional.
 "Name" is the label that appears next to each icon on Google Earth.
 "Description" is the text that appears in the Google Earth pop-up balloon. An
Excel formula can be used to combine data from several columns.
 "Icon" designates the icon that is displayed for each point. An easy way to get an icon is to
enter a number from the table below. If the Icon column is left blank or if it is missing, icon
number 166 is displayed. You can also enter an icon's "www" web address. If you don't
want an icon, enter the word "none".
 Save the worksheet.
 Click the "Browse" button above and select the worksheet you just created.
 Click the "View on Google Earth" button.
