Reflective Writing in Medical Education

This document is a literature review on reflective writing ability among medical education students. It discusses reflective writing as an important part of medical education and reviews several studies on assessing levels of reflection in students' writing. The review found that reflective writing can help students develop skills like empathy, self-awareness, and critical thinking. However, it can be difficult to reliably code and evaluate reflection in open-ended writing. More research is needed to understand how to best facilitate reflection and assess its effects.
