The document discusses the author's perspective on "cheat foods" or "guilty foods". The author believes that everyone craves unhealthy foods sometimes and looks to food as a reward. The author advocates having one cheat meal per week where you indulge your cravings, rather than an entire cheat day. A single cheat meal is unlikely to undo your healthy lifestyle or diet. While the science is still out, some sources say there may be benefits to an occasional cheat meal. However, the author emphasizes it should only be one meal, not a whole cheat day of unhealthy eating.

CHEAT FOODS!

MAY I
CHEAT?
A aahhh, Cheat Foods… or Guilty foods…

Whatever you call it, it has the same effect after we eat it…

Ecstatic highs, then regret! So, the questions I get asked a

lot as a personal trainer or health person are: “Don’t you
crave ‘unhealthy’ foods? And “Do you cheat?”

The answer: YES!. I do! But I control when I cheat. Now…

this works for me and others, but it may not work for
everyone!

I believe that no matter how focused you are on health –

because we have a natural reward system as human – we
look for food to reward ourselves… and more often than
not it’s the unhealthy kind that we look for!

Do let’s get it straight: A cheat meal is NOT a cheat DAY,

BY MICHAELLA RECTO it’s exactly what it is… it’s a MEAL! And only one meal!
