Hand of Orula
Awo Fakan for men and Ikofa Fun for women (commonly referred to as Mano de Orula or Hand of Orula) is a
three day ceremony performed by a minimum three Babalawo's. If more than two people are doing the
ceremony together it makes it eaiser because it splits the cost ,also to have at least three Babalawo's present
because there's a lot of work.
Day One: You will feed your newly birthed Eshu, Ogun, Oshossi, Osun and Orunmila. You will also be required
to do some other ceremonies ,take some Omiero (Special blessed herb, other ingredients) home with you to
bathe in. (You will bathe in another batch of omiero for the course of the three days). It is via the omiero that
you are cleaning all negative energy and receiving the ashe and blessed energy that you receive in this
ceremony.
Day Two: Is a day of rest. Your newly birthed and fed Orisha's are resting.
Day Three: Ita (Life Reading). This is where you find out what Odu If or sign you live under the influence of,
who is your Guardian Orisha and what other initiations, if any, you will need as well as a road map to live your
life by going forward.
You don't have to locked up in a house for three days. You can go home.
Typical Costs: $1900 to $3000 depending on where you live. NYC, Miami, Los Angeles... be prepared to spend
around $2500.
Mano de Orula should be one of the first ceremony anyone receives. It is your birthright to know your destiny
and how to best fulfill it.
Ifa is the sum of the Universes Knowledge. Babalawos are the conduits to tap into that knowldege. Their role is
much, much bigger that just being the ones to "read your path". Also, only Babalawo's can perform the Mano
de Orula ceremony.
