Introduction  
 
 
There  are  many  countries  in  the  world.  Through  the  use  of  technology  and  other  
resources  you  will  plan  and  organize  a  trip  to  explore  and  enjoy  a  country.  You  
have  to  plan  where  you  want  to  go,  what  you  want  to  see,  what  you  want  to  do,  
and  how  much  the  trip  will  cost.  
 
 
 
 
Goals  
 
• Make  a  budget.  
• Recognize  the  ecotourism  as  responsible  travel  to  natural  
areas  that  conserves  the  environment.  
• Learn  about  countries,  their  cities,  and  the  places  to  visit.  
• Write  a  diary  that  shows  its  elements.  
• Present  an  informative  /  descriptive  speech  in  front  of  an  
audience.  
 
Task  
 
There  are  seven  continents  and  you  will  plan  your  trip  
choosing  a  country  in  one  of  the  continents  that  you  want  to  
visit.  The  trip  will  take  two  weeks.  You  will  need  to:  
 
Ø Choose  three  cities  you  want  to  visit  in  the  country  you  
selected.  
Ø Get  the  flights  and  all  the  means  of  transportation  you  
will  use.  Price  the  cost.  
Ø Calculate  the  cost  of  the  food.  
Ø Locate  and  price  accommodations.  Keep  in  mind  that  there  is  an  extra  30%  discount  for  the  
third  night  you  spend  in  any  of  the  hotels  /  apartments  /  hostels,  etc.  
Ø Select  the  sightseeing  in  each  city,  get  information  about  the  attractions  and  calculate  the  cost.    
Ø Include  one  natural  area  that  conserves  the  environment  to  visit  (ecotourism).    
Ø Collect  information  about  the  country  you  will  visit:  geography,  history,  religion,  customs  and  
traditions.  
Ø Make  a  presentation  showing  the  information  you  collected  about  the  country,  the  cities,  the  
attractions  and  the  natural  area  you  chose.  
Ø Keep  a  travel  diary.  
 
Your  task  is  to  present:  
 
Ø The  trip  budget.  
Ø The  travel  itinerary  (dates,  means  of  transportations,  hotels,  attractions)  
 Ø The  natural  area  you  will  visit,  the  reasons  why  you  picked  this  place,  flora  and  fauna  of  the  
country,  the  way  the  government  protects  the  environment.  
Ø A  power  point  /  prezi  presentation  with  the  information.  
Ø Your  travel  diary  in  a  scrapbook.  
 
Deadlines  
 
ü First  Task:  The  Itinerary  and  Budget  
Turn  in  your  assignment  to  your  math  teacher  on  October  24th.  
 
ü Second  Task:  The  report  of  the  fauna  and  flora  of  the  country  (with  pictures)  the  way  the  
government  protects  this  area  and  other  natural  areas,  and  the  reasons  why  you  choose  this  
place.  
Turn  in  your  assignment  to  your  science  teacher  on  November  1st.  
 
ü Third  Task:  The  report  of  the  country:  geography,  history,  religion,  customs  and  traditions.  
Turn  in  your  assignment  to  your  social  studies  teacher  on  November  6th.  
 
ü Fourth  Task:  The  presentation  about  your  work  and  the  scrapbook  (travel  diary)

Conclusion  
 
The Project is about finishing. You know now much more about the country you have been working on. You
have learnt many things, not only information and facts; but also to analyze and select information and how
to prepare a report, a presentation, and a travel diary.
