Chapter 4 Fourier

The document discusses Fourier series and examples of using them to represent periodic functions. [1] Fourier series can be used to represent almost any periodic function as a sum of sines and cosines. [2] The example function f(x)=2x from 0 to pi is represented by its Fourier series which has a0=2pi and an=(-1)^n/n^2 for n odd and an=0 for n even. [3] In general, a Fourier series represents a periodic function as a0/2 + (an cos(nx) + bn sin(nx)).

Fourier series
FOURIER SERIES
■ A series of periodic function and represent in term of cosines and sines.
■ Almost all periodic function of fourier series is in period 2L / 2.
Is defined on the interval [0,L] but the period of the functions is 2L.
