Lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) bands/multiple carriers
Zyxel’s SlimDAS totally changes the economic equation of DAS deployment—
while improving everything else. Eschewing costly yet cumbersome coaxial
cabling, SlimDAS is a unique product that enables the deployment of easy-to- 2 x SISO, 1 x MIMO, or

networking novices, saving the cost of hiring licensed electricians—a necessity in
traditional DAS deployment. CAT-5 also allows SlimDAS to power the entire
system using just one power supply, via PoE. These features significantly shorten
SlimDAS deployment time and greatly simplify management. In addition, High SNR, low noise figure
through bringing the amplifier straight to the antenna, SlimDAS delivers the best
possible signal-to-noise ratio—with no signal strength degradation. Finally, its low

Taking advantage of simple maintenance and management antennas
Traditional DAS products do not offer end-to-end monitoring and management
abilities. Signals just pass through RF cables quietly and building owners won’t

enabling IT staff to manage everything from the RF source to the antenna point
via EMS and SNMPv3.

RU (Remote Unit) can be individually adjusted. Upgrading to
MIMO service or additional carrier support is also easily
achieved through RF module addition. SlimDAS remote units
feature built-in pattern-configurable antennas in each
module, through which users can choose directional or omni
output and optimize coverage. SlimDAS also features input
auto-levelling algorithms that adaptively optimize system gain
to ensure optimal overall performance. For GSM900 systems,
SlimDAS's Uplink-Time- Slot-Mutely mechanism serves to avoid
adjacent channel rejection and far-close effects for phones
close to remote units.
