Intermediate SMAW Lesson Plans

This document outlines the lesson plans for an intermediate Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) course over 14 weeks. It includes objectives, lectures, and lab assignments for each week. Students will learn and practice SMAW techniques in various welding positions and with different electrode types. They will practice fillet and groove welds on carbon steel plates. In weeks 7 and 14, students will complete qualification tests with a butt weld in the vertical and overhead positions. The final assessment is for students to create a Welding Procedure Specification for an assigned welding task.
