INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

Shopping online is very relevant today. The internet is widely used as a tool

to sell products and even students nowadays are also doing this as a part-time

job. Good marketing strategies must be practiced by the seller. It’s not only

posting pieces of stuff online and wait for the customers to order or buy

products from them. They need to have good marketing strategies and deal

with the customers as well. In that way, buyers will trust them and their online

business might not only work but maybe it can grow and expand. There are

many ways to have your own business but today, online selling is in the

mainstream. This research is important to have knowledge on what’s

happening inside this type of business especially to these sellers who are still

minors. Age is not a reason to not know the right etiquette to sell freely online.

Since these sellers are still in the midst of their schooling, the research aims to

find out their strategies on how they are doing this type of business.

Statement of the Problem

Generally, the study aims to find out the marketing strategies done by

selected Senior High School learners to attract customers and to be successful

in online selling.
Specifically, this study aims to answer the following questions:

1. Why do these learners choose online selling?

2. How do they manage their time on being learners and at the same time

young entrepreneurs?

3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of online selling?

Scope and Delimitation

The research is about how the Senior High School Learners are doing their

transactions online and what are they doing to have loyal customers.

E-commerce is the new, fastest way to start a business. This is a form of

selling products by posting it online. It is admired by many for it is easier to buy

products through online and also it is not time consuming.

This will only focus about E-commerce. Businesses who are not involved in

E-commerce are outside of the study.


Questionnaires will be given to the selected participants to answer specific

questions regarding the research topic.

Setting

Rizal College of Taal, (RCT) will be the setting of the research which is

located at Calle G. Marella St., Taal, Batangas. Only Senior High School

learners from the said school will be the participants of the study.

Significance of the Study

The results of this research study will benefit the following:

Minor Online Seller. The result of this research will give them new knowledge

on how to have a good marketing skills for customers to trust them. This will

also be beneficial to students who are online sellers since it will remind them to

prioritize their studies.

Learners. This research will be helpful to fellow students who also want to

have extra income while studying.


Parents. This will be helpful to our dear parents especially to the parents of

online sellers who will know about e-commerce. They will also be informed of

other things their children are doing.

Future Researchers. This will be helpful to those researchers in the next

generation because this will be a guide if ever they're making the same study

that is related to this topic.

Basic Literature Foundation

Technology is widely increasing causing the internet to become a shopping


media besides it from being a media to communicate
(Hadiyati, Fatkhurahman, Pailis, Suroto, 2017). In South East Asia, including
Philippines, online shopping has become a virtual gold of mine. Because of this,
expansions are widely increasing for shopping mails (Nis, 2014). E-commerce
is a quick start for business. All you need is an internet connection and your
computer, you can now easily start your own business without any hassle. This
also provides you new channels for you to reach more customers. Even a new
seller or an existing seller, customers are continuously there (Hufford, 2017).
General Objective of the Problem

Due to the increasing population of these student sellers, the main objective of
the research is to find out why did these students chose to sell online even if
they are still studying. It is important to know the reason why did they choose
to be in this field. Knowing that they are still learners, what do you think are
the things that influenced them to join the business? This has been made to
come up with the idea of studying the online marketing strategies and the
behavior done by the participants of the research.

Specific Questions:
1. It is also important to know how are they doing transactions using online
and what strategies are they doing to be successful in this kind of business.
