Introduction:
Automatic wash basin tap controller
i s a n I nf r a r e d ba s ed s y s te m t ha t detects any interruption of the IR
rays by our hands or utensils and water automatically starts flowing out of
the tap. The circuit mainly comprises Transmitter & Receiver which are
built with the 555 Timer. Both require 5 volts D.C. Supply. The IR rays
continuously emitted by the transmitter fall on the receiver. We used an IR
sensor – TSOP1738 and an infra-red LED. A relay is used in the circuit
along with the free-wheeling diode to drive the solenoid. Solenoid is used to lift
the valve fitted in the pipe to let the water flow out of the tap.It will
help to save water and it can work on public places efficiently where the
tap remains open for hours and no one is there to close the tap and
gallons of water wasted but it also can be used on other places.
Components:
• IR sensor
• 5v regulated supply
• 12V adapter/bettery
• 2n2222 npn transistor
• 10k Resistor
• Bread Board
• 12v 10A SPDT relay
• Resistor
• Capacitor
• 2.5v LED
• Solenoid valve

Expected output:
The expected output of this project is when the person close to the tap IR sensor
detect the motion of the person tap automatically opens .
