Present simple.

Present simple.
Structure.
Affirmative: S+V.P+C.
Present simple affirmative forms of sin with the infinitive verb " to".
In the 3rd person singular (he, she, it ) A -s at the end verb ADD
Example:

 I play.
 You play.
 She plays.
 He plays
 It plays.
 We play
 You play
 Thay play.

As a rule, we have said that the 3rd person singular simple present carries a final -s. But
there are exceptions depending on the verb ends in -y, or, -ch, -sh , -ss , -x.

 If the verb ends in - y preceded by a consonant, the - y is changed –


ies
Example:
To cry He cries El llora

To study She studies Ella estudia


To fly It flies Vuela
 If the -y ending is preceded by a vowel, as we have seen before and the verb " to
play" , you will only add an –s.

Example: He plays (el juega).

 If the verb ends in -o preceded by a consonant , is added ‘’ es ‘’.


Example:
To do He does El hace

To go She goes Ella va

 If the verb ends in -ch , -sh , -ss , -x , add -es.

Example:
To watch He watches El ve

To wash She Washes Ella lava

To pass He passes El aprueba

To fix He fixes Ella arregla

This negative Simple


Simple structure is present in the negative :
Subject + do / does + not + verb + ..

Present simple interrogative


affirmative
Do / does + subject + verb ?

negative
Long Form Do / does + not + verb + subject ?
Short form: Don't / doesn't + subject + verb ?
Phrases.

- I work on saturdays .
- I don´t get up at eight o´clock
- Do you like fish?

Simple past.
The structure of "simple past" ( Simple Past Tense ) in English is:

[SUBJECT] + [ past tense , ending " -ed" ].


Example:
I worked.
You worked.
He worked.

Construction of the past


In general, to form the past in English, " -ed " is added to a verb.
Example:

Work-worked.

Past verbs ending in " -e"


To form the past the "-e " final is replaced by " -ed".
Example: Use-Used.

Negative in the simple past


The formation of negation in "simple past" is simpler than affirmation.
Its structure is :

[ SUBJECT ] + did + not + [ infinitive ( without to) ].


Example: I did not sing.
The interrogative in the simple past
To construct the question the auxiliary verb to do is used in the past ( did ) .
The structure is :

Did + [ SUBJECT ] + [ infinitive ( without to) ] ?.


Example: Did I Sing?.
Phrases:

- He closed the window.


- She did not wash the car.
- Did you see my bag?.
