Step 1 : Search for a SQL Evaluation Edition.

Step 2: Register and Download SQL.

Step 3: Once you download the file, right click on the exe file and “Run as Administrator”

Step 4: You will be presented with 3 options. Choose Custom.

Step 5: Click Install

Step 6: Click “Installation” , “New SQL server stand-alone…”

Step 7: There are few steps to perform from here, but its very easy. Click Next

Step 8: Keep clicking next in the next 2 screens.

Step 9: This is an important step. You want to make sure, you install the DB engine, Reporting services,
Documentation and Tools.

Step 10: Provide a named instance. Give it any name. I am calling it SQL2016.

Step 11: Click Next:

Step 12: Select Mixed mode, and enter a password. Click add “Add Current User” for administrator.

Step 13: For Reporting Services configuration, select “Install Only”. Click next, then click install.

Step 14: Let it install, then you should see the following screens.
