Slab to Beam Load Calculation Guide

This document provides calculations to determine the load from a concrete slab to the supporting beams below. It lists the slab thickness, material weights, and applied loads totaling 8.5 kN/m^2. For a one-way slab with spans of 5m and 2.5m, the load on the longer 5m span is calculated to be 15.83 kN/m.

Load Calculation from Slab to Beam

Slab Thickness = 0.14 m

Concrete Unit Weight = 25 kN/m3
Self Weight of Slab = 3.5 kN/m2
Floor Finish = 2 kN/m2
Live Load = 2 kN/m2
Any Other Gravity Load = 1 kN/m2
Total UDL on Floor Area, wo = 8.5 kN/m2

Long Span, Ly = 5 m
Long Span, Lx = 2 m
Span Ratio, β = 2.5 One Way Slab

Load from Triangular Area, = One Way kN/m

Load from Trapezoidal Area, = One Way kN/m

If it is One way Slab then,

Load on Longer Span = 8.50 kN/m
