Canada and Haiti Population Trends 2014

Canada's population is distributed unevenly across its provinces and territories. Ontario and Quebec have large populations due to European immigration in the previous century. Alberta has a low tax rate and oil production has increased its population in the Prairies. The temperate climate of Southern BC also attracts residents. Population distribution in Haiti is also uneven, with central Haiti home to agricultural areas and the largest city offering the most opportunities, while rural areas surround main cities and coastal regions are more vulnerable to natural disasters. Political, social, economic and physical factors all influence population distribution.
