 T h e r m o m e t e r T 1 and T2 are fixed as shown in fig.

 Any steam formed during combustion is condensed and ,
collected' separately
Working
 Water at a constant rate is passed through the coil
 Water enters from the top of the outer copper coil, moves to
the bottom of the chimney and exit at the top through inner
copper coil
 T h e Th e r mo m e t e r ( T 1) g i v e s t h e i n c o m i n g w a t e r
temperature and thermometer (T 2) gives the outgoing water
temperature
