IX Euclids Geometry

This lesson plan is for a 9th grade mathematics class. It will cover polynomials from the previous lesson and introduce Euclid's geometry. Students will learn about Euclid's definitions of geometric terms like points and lines. They will also learn Euclid's five postulates and one axiom. The teacher will explain these concepts through examples and have students work through exercises to reinforce the ideas.

surface and plain surface with examples.

(iii) learn and understand Euclid's postulates.

(iv) learn and understand Euclid's Axiom.

(v) Understand two equivalent version of Euclid's fifth postulates.

Teaching Methodology:

(i) revision of polynomials learnt in earlier classes will be done Then excercise
2.5 will be solved.

(ii) Euclid's geometry will be introduced by giving example of the problems

faced by people in ancient civilizations and how geometry helped them to
overcome the problems.
(iii) Teacher will tell the students about the great Greek mathematician Euclid ,
who thought of geometry as an abstract model of the world.

(iv) with the help of example, few definitions stated above will be explained
and defined and undefined terms and difference between Axiom and
postulates will be discussed.

(v) Euclid'sfive postulates will be explained by giving certain example.

(vi) the term proposition or theorem and theorem based on Euclid's postulates
will be explained.

( vii) Axioms will be discussed.

( viii) to make children understand the applications of axiom and postulates ex

5.1 will be discussed and solved.

( ix) equivalent version of Euclid's fifth postulates will be explained and ex 5.2
will be done.
