CHAPTER 3
Methodology
Research Design
Descriptive Research (“Survey Research”) coin collects
data in order to answer questions about that current status of
the subject or topic of the study. It also uses formal
instruments to the study preferences, attitude, practices,
concerns or interest of a sample. (Jacobs, 2013)
Population and Sampling
The respondents sampled and described as to the selected
variables to present their profile. The study has One Hundred
(100) respondents composed of Fifty (50) community residents and
fifty (50) in Garden Destination in Cebu City, Philippines. The
Researchers gathered surveys to the respondents as to Garden
Tourism Destination in Cebu City.
Research Locale
The locale of the study was in Garden Destination in Cebu
City, Philippines

and community visitors in Cebu. The respondents consisted of 50
community residents and community visitors. They were classified

composed of the respondents’ Name, Age, Gender, and Civil Status

Data Gathering Procedures
Statistical Treatment of Data
The data gathered were compiled, collated and summarized
separately per group. The responses for each item were
categorized based on the specific problems raised.
1. Percentage. This was used as a descriptive statistics or
something that describes a part of the whole. This was used to
measure part 1 of the survey questionnaire.
2. Weighted Mean. This was used to measure the respondent’s
assessments. Multiplying each value in the group by the
appropriate weight factor and the product is summed up and
divided by the total number of respondents.
3. T–test of Significant Difference between two Means. This will
be used to determine whether or not significant difference exist
between the perceptions of the Respondents. It solves using the
following formula
