Technology Change Everything
Times have changed, just like the season have changed and now we are entering
a new era, an era where technology evolve rapidly, quickly, and uncontrollably where
usually people call it industry 4.0. We all know that, technology have a lot of benefits for
our life such as with technology we can send an email to someone quickly, make our jobs
easier, get information faster, and etc. The other side technology also have
disadvantages for our life such as make us lazier, a lot of fraud in the internet, cannot
socialize as well as normally people, dependence on robots, and etc. The effects of the
changes and how we face and respond it, its very important to us to make decision for
our future life. Technology has unconsciously changed how we live in our daily activities,
from eating, travelling, shopping, and communicating with friends. Can not be denied now
people prefer spend their time for playing handphone then spend their day for socialize
with around or just for spend time with their family.
The Industrial Revolution 4.0 will have a major impact and positive changes to the
quality of life, lifestyle, work ethics and people relationships by means of the acceptations
of the cyber-physical system, IoT and the Internet. Through the implementation of smart
technology in workplaces, industry and economy, connected “machines” will interact,
visualize the entire production or the process chain, generating more values and helping
us make better decisions. This is the era of artificial intelligence, genome editing,
biometrics, renewable energy, 3D printing, autonomous vehicles and the Internet of
Things. In essence, it can be seen as a doubling down on revolutions one to three. Instead
of technology being a thing we use, it will now be truly embedded into our lives to affect
a great change. The Industry 4.0 will interact among and influence all disciplines,
industries and economies. This means that, due to its hyper speed, spatiality,
sustainability and its impact on the system, it will disrupt almost all industries around the
world, which will create vast changes in a non-linear manner. One of the greatest
promises of the Industry 4.0 Revolution is the potential to improve the quality of life of
people around the world, and to increase the level of earnings. Neither technology nor
the disruption that comes with it is an exogenous force over which humans have no
control. All of us are responsible for guiding its evolution, in the decisions we make on a
daily basis as citizens, consumers and investors. We should thus grasp the opportunity
and power we have to shape the Fourth Industrial Revolution and direct it toward a future
that reflects our common objectives and values. To do this, however, we must develop a
comprehensive and globally shared view of how technology is affecting our lives and
reshaping our economic, social, cultural and human environments. There has never been
a time of greater promise, or one of greater potential peril. Today’s decision-makers,
however, are too often trapped in traditional, linear thinking, or too absorbed by the
multiple crises demanding their attention, to think strategically about the forces of
disruption and innovation shaping our future.
In the end, it all comes down to people and values. We need to shape a future that
works for all of us by putting people first and empowering them. In its most pessimistic,
dehumanized form, the Fourth Industrial Revolution may indeed have the potential to
“robotize” humanity and thus to deprive us of our heart and soul. But as a complement to
the best parts of human nature — creativity, empathy, stewardship — it can also lift
humanity into a new collective and moral consciousness based on a shared sense of
destiny.
