Answers
(1) 6

Step 1
We have to find the 3-digit number, so we will fill the digits in the place value chart given below.
HTO

Step 2
We have the digits 2, 8, and 7. Firstly, we will fix one digit at the hundreds place and form numbers
by interchanging the digits at the tens and ones place.

Let us fix 2 at the hundreds place. We have,

H T O
2 __ __

Now if we fill 8 at the tens place, we will have to fill 7 at the ones place. We get,
H T O
2 8 7

Now if we fill 7 at the tens place, we will have to fill 8 at the ones place. We get,
H T O
2 7 8

Step 3
Let us fix 8 at the hundreds place. We have,
H T O
8 __ __

Now if we fill 2 at the tens place, we will have to fill 7 at the ones place. We get,
H T O
8 2 7

Now if we fill 7 at the tens place, we will have to fill 2 at the ones place. We get,
H T O
8 7 2

Step 4
Let us now fix 7 at the hundreds place. We have,
H T O
7 __ __
