Tourism has both benefits and drawbacks. It benefits a country's economy by bringing in revenue from foreign visitor spending. It also provides jobs and encourages infrastructure development like new hotels and attractions. However, overtourism can damage the environment and historical sites due to large visitor numbers and pollution. Local communities may also feel that their towns are no longer theirs as they become overwhelmed by tourists. While tourism has positive economic impacts, its negative effects on communities and the environment must also be considered.

Essay
Tourism, nowadays is one of the most
popular way of spending free time to recreate yourself,
rest and learn at the same time new things . It is highly
developed in almost all countries, mainly because of
the material profits it brings. But unfortunately, it has
some negative effects .
In the first place , tourism has a lot of
advantages . One point of view in favour of tourism is
the fact that it helps in the development of economy of
a country . Spending their holiday in a foreign country
and spending lavishly money, the people contribute to
tourism development without them realizing .Starting
with whom they give money on airfare and finishing
with the amount of money that they spend at the
amusement park booths or ticket they pay it from the
entrance of the museum, a small fraction of that
amount belongs to the state . In addition , tourism gives
people the opportunity to spend holidays with their
family in the atmosphere that they wants either in a
exotic country, under palm trees or in the Alps, in a
cottage, where the rustle of branches trees only be
heard . Thus , this travel based recreation provides
relief from the monotony of daily routine. A change in
place and climate helps a traveler to recharge his mind,
body and spirit . Not to mention the fact that some
improvements are made because of tourism . New
hotels, amusement parks, shops, restaurants are built
to give tourists comfort, rest, recreation, peace . For
exemple USA is the country that invests the most in
tourism , but also it earns a lot of money from travels
by foreigners in big cities like New York, Los Angeles
,Miami ,Boston and Chicago or people who come to see
Niagara Falls, Golden Gate Bridge, Yellowstone or the
Grand Canyon.
Secondly , tourism has many disadvantages
that only residents of the country observe them over
time . There are countless local communities the world
over that have felt a loss of not only privacy, but the
feeling that their town is no longer theirs. Whether it’s a
small medieval city in Italy, or a colonial town in Central
America, excessive tourism can strip the locals of a
feeling of privacy. It may be due to the newly-packed
restaurants and bars, or the very busy streets that used
to be empty, it’s not unusual to feel as if their humble
town has been taken over by outsiders. On the other
hand , the tourist can often cause environmental
damage with things like pollution .Even if tourists
behave responsibly, the sheer number of the them can
cause problems . Things like ancient buildings,
monuments, and temples often struggle to cope with
the vast amounts of tourist traffic and they suffer wear
and tear or damage .
Taking everything into account , tourism has
both positive effects and negative effects. Now, it
depends on how we look . If I put on one side of the
balance the advantages and disadvantages of tourism, I
would say that the balance is moving toward the
positive effects , because I believe that pollution ,
damage to monuments , castles and temples may be
omitted ,but beautiful and interesting things we find on
a trip can not be removed from never mind .
