Grade 6 Batting Skills Lesson Plan

This lesson plan is for a 6th grade physical education class on batting skills. The lesson will begin with a warm up catching game, followed by a demonstration and discussion of the proper batting technique. Students will then practice batting in pairs at different distances. Finally, they will play a game where one team bats and the other fields, with the goal of getting 3 outs before the batter reaches base. To check for understanding, the teacher will ask questions throughout and observe students during discussions and games. The goal is for students to explain the importance of batting, demonstrate batting skills, and identify connections between batting and catching.
