Nestlé S.A., a highly respected global company that has established its presence

in 189 countries to enable healthier and happier lives through their brands. Nestle offers

their various products with over 150 years of passion for nutrition to bring people tastier

and healthier choice. This is Nestle S.A., a Swiss multinational food and drink processing

conglomerate corporation headquartered in Vevey, Vaud, Switzerland. Nestlé's products

include baby food, medical food, bottled water, breakfast cereals, coffee and tea,

confectionery, dairy products, ice cream, frozen food, pet foods, and snacks. It has 447

factories, operates in 189 countries, and employs around 339,000 people. Its shares are

publicly listed in SIX Swiss Exchange located in Zurich, Switzerland. It belongs to food

processing industry with stock ticker symbol of NESN. As of August 26, 2019 there are

2,976,000,000 shares listed.

Nestlé was formed in 1905 by the merger of the Anglo-Swiss Milk Company,

established in 1866 by brothers George and Charles Page, and Farine Lactée Henri

Nestlé, founded in 1866 by Henri Nestlé. The company grew significantly during the First

World War and again following the Second World War, expanding its offerings beyond its

early condensed milk and infant formula products. The company has made a number of

corporate acquisitions, including Crosse & Blackwell in 1950, Findus in 1963, Libby's in

1971, Rowntree Mackintosh in 1988, Klim in 1998, and Gerber in 2007.

Vision: “To bring consumers foods that are safe, of high quality and provide

optimal nutrition to meet physiological needs. In addition to Nutrition, Health and

Wellness, Nestlé products bring consumers the vital ingredients of taste and pleasure.”

Nestlé offers a wide portfolio of products and services for people and their pets throughout

their lives. It has more than 2,000 brands range from global icons like Nescafe and

Nespresso to local favorites like Ninho. In its annual review for 2017, Nestle has been

able to sell in CHF billion: 20.4 powdered and liquid beverages, 15.3 nutrition and health

science, 13.4 milk products and ice cream, 12.5 pet care, 12 prepared dishes and cooking

aids, 8.8 confectionery, and 7.5 in water. Because of Nestle clear definition of vision, it

has consistently set its leadership unmatched given tight competition. Nestle has always

regarded research and development to be a big factor that made the company strive hard

to produce good quality food for their customer and also a good basis for Nestle to meet

the health factor for each and every food they offer.

Mission: “Make better food so that people live a better life.” Nestlé is the world’s

largest food and beverages company and is present in 189 countries around the world.

Nestlé’s success is built on its Nutrition, Health and Wellness strategy. Its, Henri Nestlé,

believed that good nutrition was the key to a healthy life. The food processing industry is

growing significantly in every part of the world due to high demand for quality food. The

challenge is for every company in food manufacturing and processing business to make

use of the best services and technology to produce great quality food. This is what Nestle

believes - food and beverages remain core to its strategy, the heart of its business

existence. Its mission statement is very much align to how everyone desires to have

good life with a good food. Nestle mission is to provide the tastiest and healthiest choices,

at all times of the day and for all stages of life, delivered in a convenient and time‑saving

manner. It also offers consumer healthcare products to help people meet their health and

wellness goals. This is what Nestlé mean by ‘Good food, Good life’.

Nestlé’s portfolio is well‑positioned for growth. The key to long‑term success

continues to be understanding and serving the consumer. By identifying consumer trends

early and acting quickly to capture them, Nestlé remains at the forefront of the fast‑moving

consumer goods industry. Moreover, it has the largest research and development

network in the food and beverages industry, continually innovating and renovating our

portfolio to meet changing consumer demands. As a matter of fact, in 2017, over 60% of

our R&D budget was dedicated to developing more nutritious products. For the food and

beverages categories, the focus remains on developing tastier and healthier offerings. It

also continues to deliver specific health benefits through its products in categories like

infant nutrition and health science
