Context and Rationale

One of the skills of an effective teacher is to have an efficient classroom

management strategies or techniques in teaching. But it is really hard to possess

because it takes a great deal of ability and effort to manage or handle a classroom

that full of students. It is not enough that a teacher is knowledgeable in the subject

that he/she is handling, but it is also important that they can maintain order and

discipline and stimulate or motivate learning environment. For the students to be more

interested on the lesson proper, teachers should maintain a good ambiance that will

enable to reduce or prevent any distractions. However, classroom management also

in need of planning and using good and varied teaching practices. Therefore,

classroom management skills of teachers are essential for their successful teaching.

Over the years, teachers have been overly concerned with the managerial

functions of classroom teaching such as establishing rules and procedures, reacting

to misbehavior and establishing order in the classroom during instructional and non-

and chaotic, and very little academic learning can happen. Effective classroom

management is a requirement for effective education.

Classroom management is about creating, inviting and appealing

environments for student learning. Classroom management strategies are tools that

the teachers can use to help create such as environment, ranging from activities to

improve teacher-student relationships to rules to regulate student behavior. Only

when efforts of management fail should teachers have to resort to reactive controlling

strategies. Therefore, it is important to distinguish between strategies used to prevent

behavior problems and strategies used to repond to problem behavior.
