HISTORY OF THE ORGANIZATION
Jesus On Youth Ministry is a newly formed Christian ministry; an official
youth group of Word International Ministries – Malaybalay City (WIN). It can be
abbreviated as JOY Min. The group was formerly known as Sword Shield Campus
Ministry (then Sword Shield Discipleship Ministry) which was previously recognized
as one of the religious clubs in Bukidnon State University (BukSU). The latter was
first organized by college students of the same institution way back many years ago.
Through the conviction of the Holy Spirit, the group conducted bible studies and
campus evangelism to their fellow students.
By 2013, the Sword Shield Campus Ministry was introduced to Word
International Ministries Student Center by means of conducting their weekly
fellowship at the said center. Since the campus ministry was not under any church, the
students had a need to find a church to belonged and attend to during Sundays. But
thankfully, WIN was very accessible to students. Thus, they were able to attend
services during Sundays at WIN. It was not long after that that the youth was able to
develop God-given talents and skills which was indeed a blessing to the church. They
began to voluntarily involved themselves at different ministries in the church such
that of preaching, outreach and music ministries. Hence, a good relationship was built
by the youth and the church.
Since the Lord has expanded the territory of SSDM, they focused their
ministry in the City of Valencia, in which they are currently operating. On the other
side, the Malaybalay city Chapter decided to give birth to the new youth group under
the name of the said church the youth formerly belonged. This is to become a blessing
to the church refraining the churches from forming divisions and conflicts due to the
youth’s commitments.
