2. ACQUIRE Activity Proper:
The teacher will group the pupils into three groups. Before the pupils will go to their assigned groups the
teacher will set classroom standards to follow.
Here are the standards to follow:

“Dig Me Out?”
I. OBJECTIVE:
a. Define soil; and
b. Identify the different types of soil based on their physical characteristics.
II. MATERIALS: 3 plastic cups of the same size, shape and color, 3 poposicle sticks, 3 plastics spoons, hand
lens,3 used of short coupon bond, hand shovel, permanent marker and a pair of gloves.
III. PROCEDURE:
What to Do:

2. Collect a sample of soil in your area and place it in the
empty cans.
3. Label each can with A, B and C.
4. Scoop at least two tablespoons of soil from each sample.
5. Place each sample on a separate bond paper.
6. Using your hands, observe each sample.
7. Write your observations on your science notebook using the
table below and write the same on the manila paper for
posting and reporting in the class.

Upon completing the assigned task, gather the used materials and go back to your classroom for
posting and reporting of your output.
Make sure you leave the area clean.
