GATE 2020 Exam Guide

The GATE 2020 exam will consist of 65 multiple choice and numerical answer type questions. The exam is divided into two sections: general aptitude and a technical section pertaining to the candidate's chosen discipline. The general aptitude section contains 15 questions worth 15 marks, while the technical section contains 50 questions worth 85 marks. Within each section, questions can carry either 1 or 2 marks. Multiple choice questions will have negative marking of 0.33 for 1-mark questions and 0.66 for 2-mark questions. Numerical answer questions will not have any negative marking. The exam is 3 hours long.
