II- Background of the Study
The area of focus of this project is to establish security in health
of the students through the importance of first aid kit in Grade 8
classrooms. The importance of the first aid kit in grade 9 classrooms
is to support medication for the students during emergencies and to
provide treatment during injuries regardless of how small it is. It also
shows how prepared a classroom is during unwanted events.
Without first aid kit, the researchers feel that the students will feel
unsafe and unsupported to the school. Unfortunately, it is often
neglected by the school staff. By putting up first aid kit in
classrooms, the researchers hope to give health and safety, and
enough medication needed by the students in every classroom and
even inside school campus.
III- Statement of the Problem
The researchers found out that most Grade 8 classrooms of
Trento National High School does not have any medical kit inside

their classrooms, medical clinic, and school nurse. The researchers
are hoping that by establishing medical assistance, it enhances the
safety of the students. We are looking forward to working in this
area of concern and share our findings with our co-teachers
because as teachers, the safety of our students is also our priority.
IV- Significance of the Study
This study will be deemed important in providing and
establishing health and safety of the students through the
importance of the first aid kit in Grade 8 classrooms. This research
study will be significant to the following:
Students. It will help all the students in Trento National High
School to lessen the numbers of absences of the students through
the use of the medical supplies given from the school. They do not
have to cut their classes because they have a feeling of discomfort
or they get injuries inside the campus.
Teachers. This study will be able to help teachers to provide a
first aid kit in their classrooms for the safety of their students. This
will be a tool for them to prevent their students from cutting classes
during emergencies.
Parents. The result of this study will serve for the parents to
know that their children are in good hands especially when they are
sick.
School Administrators and Supervisors. Results of this
investigation will encourage administrators and supervisors to help
their teachers upgrade their facilities and supplies of the school that
are really needed for the students in terms of health.

Researchers. This will serve them as a guide as they extend
this topic. They will gain more knowledge about this as they go
through the research.
V- Scope of the Study
This study is designed to understand the use of first aid kit and to
established health and safety among the students of Grade 8
classrooms of Trento National High School.
VI- Research Design
A. Methodology
The researchers will conduct a pre-experimental one-shot case
study. The researchers will provide a checklist that contains
questions and suggestions on the importance of first aid. After that,
a lecture about the first aid will be done. One day after the lecture,
post-test concerning the importance of first aid will be given.
Analysis of the data will follow
B. Sampling Design
The researchers will distribute questionnaires to all the students
of Grade 8 of Trento National High School.
C. Description of the Instrument Data and Gathering Form
The questionnaires that will be distributed to the students and it
will measure their knowledge of the importance of first aid kit in
classrooms. Post-test will be conducted and the result of this will
serve as stepping stone of the teachers and school personnel in
establishing health and safety through the importance of first aid kit.
VII- Work Plan

Pre-Implementation
As observed by the researchers that classrooms of Grade does not
have medical supply, they will gather information about the importance
of first aid and how it helps in establishing health and safety among the
students.
During Implementation
The researches will conduct a pre-experimental one-shot case study
and a lecture will be done to give information to the students and
teachers. A day after the lecture, post-test will be given to measure if
the students learned something from the lecture
Post-Implementation
The result of the post-test will be collected and analyzed by the
researches. The result will be shared to the teachers and school
personnel so that they will start putting up first aid kits in each Grade 9
classroom.

DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
I inspected the different sections of Grade 8 if they have their own
first aid kits. As a result, all of the sections that have special program
have their own first aid kits while those sections that are regular, they
don’t have medical kits. We concluded that those sections who have
special programs were prioritized. All of the regular sections except for
Uranus don’t have first aid kits. There are some reasons that those
regular sections doesn’t have medical kits is that having first kit were
not raised during meetings.

Reflection
It is beyond doubt that knowledge of first aid promotes a safer and healthier
environment. Having staff and students who are well equipped with first aid skills
contribute to enhancing the safety of the schools. Many students experience
accidents while they are at schools. The accidents might lead to simple injuries,
serious wounds or fractures. However, the victim can be given initial assistance
until the doctor arrives. It is important to have trained staff and students who can
utilize their skills and take quick action to treat the affected person. They can
apply the right procedures to prevent more damage.
As first aid offers a range of benefits, therefore, it is a must for the teachers
and students to get a proper first aid training so that they can contribute to
preserving lives. Without an initial medical assistance, a mild injury might turn
into a serious one. Moreover, serious injuries when not treated on time can be
fatal. To ensure the safety of all the staff members and students, it is important to
have first aid in the schools. It is vital to make everyone aware of the basic
methods they should apply after an accident occurs.
