INTRODUCTION

“Exhibition is the name given to a general or formal meeting of a legislative
body, social or economical group in order to provide information on a particular
economic situation and in order to deliberate and consequently, establish
consent on policies among the participants, usually of limited duration with set
objectives but no determined frequency.”
The development of exhibition complex, sport facilities and performing arts
venues are increasingly being acknowledged for their role in simulating local
economics and improving the quality of a life of a nation’s citizens. Conference
and business tourism is hence a very important sector of the global tourism
industry.
The blooming convention market necessitates creation of not merely a
exhibition complex but an exhibition destination with exhibition facilities,
shopping plazas, cluster of hotels, backward-forward linkages with international
airports, mass transit systems and adequate parking facilities.
A exhibition complex is a large building that is designed to hold a exhibition
where individuals and groups of people gather to promote and share common
interests. A exhibition complex is designed, in most cases, for the purpose of
conducting meetings, conferences and seminars. It may be adapted for specific
events, such as appearances by well-known speakers or musicians. In some
cases, meetings or other events take place in centers of buildings not

PROPOSAL AND VALIDITY
A exhibition complex is generally defined as any property used in connection
with a exhibition or meeting center, or similar facility, including auditoriums,
exhibition halls, facilities for food preparation and serving, parking facilities,
and administrative offices. A number of states have passed legislation enabling
public funding to be used for exhibition complex in an effort to attract tourism
and businesses to the local economy.
Exhibition Spaces:
In its broadest sense, an exhibition is a display, show or demonstration of
something of beauty, value or particular interest to a targeted audience.
Exhibition halls should have the space, freedom and flexibility to create an
exhibition environment. In any exhibition halls, proper considerations should be
given to the movement of people and also to the moving pattern.
On the other hand, outdoor exhibition spaces are usually located to immediate
vicinity of the exhibition halls. Outdoor exhibition areas can be developed as a
flat ground or as an amphitheater.
Conference Spaces or Auditorium Halls:
Conference halls or Auditoriums are mainly allocated in the exhibition spaces to
hold conferences and/or seminar during the exhibition period. Proper attention
must be provided in designing entry and exit routes.
Multipurpose Halls:
Multipurpose Halls can be used for conferences, exhibitions, meetings,
symposiums and several other events. Multipurpose Halls can also be used as
Banquet and/or Event Halls and sometimes also as Galleries.
Other Important spaces of an exhibition complex include:

In the past two decades, exhibition complex have seen rapid changes in
terms of the application of information technology, which has been used to
