NAME OF EVENT:FINANCIAL LITERACY CARAVAN


THEME: “Financial Preparedness Mindset”
DATE: January 12, 2019
VENUE: SMX Convention Center, Pasay City
PARTICIPANTS: All BSBA students
PROGRAM ADVOCATE: Junior Confederation of Finance Associations- Philippines (JCFAP)

RATIONALE:
Nowadays, the complex business structures call for a high quality work from business professionals,
so in order to cater these business demands, students should be engaged into activities related with their
course that would help them to create a firm spot in the battlefield. As the word innovates, its demands
change. So as future innovators of the society, students must adhere with this change by involving
themselves to an environment where they can holistically develop their potentials. By attending such
activity, students can create a well reputed, highly competitive, and credible point of view in the industry.
Students can acquire the values, ethics, and discipline they must have in the practice of their profession
as finance managers, businessman, and professionals in the future.
Thus, the College of Business Administration will seek approval to attend the National Finance
Summit with the theme, “Financial Preparedness Mindset”. The said caravan will hone their finance
skills and instill knowledge regarding stocks, bonds, and foreign exchange market, thus, would also direct
them to be a competent and excellent individual.

OBJECTIVES:
 To create awareness and educate the youth on access of financial services and to protect
the interest of the young investors;
 To conduct financial education campaign across the school for all nations by giving them
the awareness and to improve their knowledge, understanding, skill, and competence in
managing money effectively and to help them their socio-economic financial status by
taking decisions.
 To create financially awareness and empowered the youth, to undertake massive financial
education campaign to help them on how to manage their money.
 To increase the knowledge of the youth on saving and investing.
 To expand awareness about the benefit of saving at an early age.

GENERAL GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS:


The process has come to the following stages:

PRE-IMPLEMENTATION STAGE
The department conducted a meeting for the participation in the National Finance Summit to be held
SMX Convention Center on January 12, 2019 with the 1st- 4th year students and almost of them are willing
to participate in the above-mentioned convention.
Parents are informed by conducting a forum regarding this matter and through a letter provided by the
college and have a reply sheet to assure that their son/daughter will be joining the said convention. It also
includes covenant and waiver of responsibility that has to be signed and return to the department. (see
attached copy)

Attached herewith the CHED Endorsement and the Invitation Letter from the National JCFAP
organization for the fees and schedule.

IMPLEMENTATION STAGE

The students will observe the following agreements on/before the said endeavor:
 Delegates will leave Tuguegarao City on January 10 at 8:00 in the morning.
 Delegates has corresponding group adviser. Delegates are expected to follow rules and
regulations imposed by the group adviser.
 Itinerary should be strictly follow( see attached).
 Proper decorum and self-discipline are expected all the time.
 Drinking of intoxicating beverages, smoking, bringing of gambling paraphernalia and
deadly weapon are strictly prohibited;
 Delegates should wear their school/business attire of dress code for the seminar proper,
casual and comfortable clothes for the educational tour;
 Students are not allowed to go out of the dormitory or be separated from the group during
the entire duration of the convention;

 EVALUATION STAGE

After the convention, the students shall fill-up an evaluation form provided by the club so as to
determine and know the efficiency and effectivity of the activity.

BRIEFING AND PRE-DEPARTURE ORIENTATION:

As presented and what is included in the proposed concept paper, briefing for the students will include the
following:

 Interested participants are encouraged to register three weeks before the date of convention;
 Interested participants can register through the JFINEX-ISAP Chapter Secretary starting on
December 15. Final registration will be made as the concept paper is approved by the Executive
Vice-President.

 Upon registration, the JFINEX Treasurer together with the JFINEX Auditor will be in-charge of the
collection of payments from the participants. The assigned person-in-charge has set dates and the
amount of payments to be collected. The dates with its corresponding payment percentage are as
follows:

 An excuse letter approved by the Vice-President for Academic Affairs will be given to the subject
teachers of the participants a week before the departure.

 There will be a pre-departure orientation seminar (PDOS) and parents forum a week before the
departure date where the following shall be discussed:
- Proper decorum and self-discipline
- Convention itinerary and inclusions
- Dress code
- Things to bring
