Design Calculation For CW Pump House: Basic Input

The document provides design calculations for a CW pump house, including basic input parameters such as grades of concrete and reinforcement, elevation levels of the sump bottoms and raft, pier spacing and thicknesses. It then calculates the stability against uplift for the construction up to finished ground level. The uplift pressure and total uplift force in a CW sump panel are calculated. The vertical load due to the raft, back wall and pier is also given. The factor of safety against uplift is determined to be 0.77.

DESIGN CALCULATION FOR CW PUMP HOUSE

Basic Input:-
Grade of concrete M30
Grade of r/f Fe500
EL of Bottom of sump (CW Pump) -9.50
EL of Bottom of sump (ACW Pump) -5.10
EL of Bottom of raft (CW Pump) -10.70
EL of Bottom of raft (ACW Pump) -6.30
EL of finished Ground Level (FGL) -0.50
C/C distance between Piers (CW Pump) 5.40
THK of raft (CW Pump) 1.20
THK of raft (ACW Pump) 1.20
THK of pier 1.00
THK of back wall 1.00

Stability against Uplift

Case-I: Construction up to FFL

Uplift pressure due to water @ bottom of raft (CW Pump) pu = 10.20

So, total uplift in a CW Sump Panel (5.4X14.25M2) Pu = 784.89
Vertical load due to raft +back wall and pier Pv = 672.975
