Task Analyze
The task I chose was a procedural analysis. By using a procedural analysis, it would allow
teachers or learners to follow a sequential list of steps to create a Google Classroom.
Procedural analysis would allow the teachers or learners to breakdown each step in a timely
manner of their speed and if they did not understand they could go back in a sequential order.
Script: How to Create a Google Classroom for Your Class
Please read through the script to familiarize yourself with how to create a Google Classroom for
online assignments. If you work for a school county, Google Classroom should be under your
Google Apps.
Steps Action on screen Narration
1 Insert a welcoming page that Hello and welcome to a video
says Creating a Google tutorial on how to create a
Classroom! Google Classroom.
2 I am going to show you how
to create a Google
Classroom. You will need to
be in Google Drive.
3 You will then click on Google
Apps which is in the right
hand corner by your Google
Account.
4 You will then look for Google
Classroom and click on it.
5 You will then click on the +
sign(Create/join class) next to
the Google Apps.
6 Click on create class.
7 Type in your Class Name,
you can enter your section,
subject and room, but I will
not at this time. Then you will
click on create at the bottom
right corner.
8 Wait for your classroom to be
created. Your classroom
should pop up and you
should be on the main page
of your Google Classroom.
9 If you do not like the theme or
picture, then click select
theme which is in the bottom
corner of the picture.
10 Select your new theme and
click select class theme on
the bottom left side.
11 To add assignments or write
the students a note, you will
click on share something with
your class which is in the
middle of the page.
12 Type a message for your
students. Then click you can
click post.
13 To get students to sign in the
classroom, you will have to
display the class code.
(Will not be the class code)
14 To get the code, it is under
you class name, click on the
square and the code will get
larger. If you have a
smartboard in the classroom,
(Will not be the class code) display it on the screen and
allow students to type the
code. You will have to explain
to the students steps 2-5 and
tell them to join class rather
than create class.
15 Insert a thank you page that Thank you for taking the time
says Thanks for watching! to watch this video!
