Ask: What shapes do you see inside our classroom?
What is the term used in mathematics for this shapes?
B. Establishing Purpose for the Lesson
Activity #1: CHARADES
1. A representative from the group will choose a picture from the presentation.
2. Each picture has distinct objects that represents a plane figure.
3. A member of the group will act the object in the picture and the members will
guess what it is.
4. After 30 seconds, one member will state the plane figure represented by the
objects.
Ask: What skills did you use to answer correctly?
C. Presenting Examples/Instances of the New Lessons
Activity #2: CONSTRUCT AND DISCOVER!
1. Each group will be given nets of different solid figures.
2. Construct solid figures using the nets.
3. Identify the solid figure that you created.
4. Place them on the board for the class to see.
Group 1: CUBE Group 2: PRISM
Group 3: PYRAMID Group 4: CYLINDER
Group 5: CONE
Ask: What are the solid figures you have constructed?
What can you say about the solid figures?

Guide the pupils in understanding the following data.
E. Discussing New Concepts and Practicing and Concern to New Skills #2
Activity #3: Count and Learn!
1. Each group will be given a worksheets.
2. Complete the needed data, groups can make use of the solid figures they constructed
for reference.
3. Each group will post their work on the board and will be presented by the reporter.
F. Developing Mastery (Leads to Formative Assessment #3)
Activity #4: Tony’s Robot
1. Each group will be given a worksheets.
2. Answer the worksheet based from Tony’s Robot.
3. The reporter will present their work in class.

J. Additional Activities for Application or Remediation
A father wanted to buy a water container. He is thinking on which is best to buy – the
rectangular shape or a cylindrical shape.
1. Imagine that the 2 containers have the same height and width/diameter, does the shape
have something to do with quantity of water that the container can hold?
2. Which of the 2 containers will you suggest to Mr. Cruz is best to buy? Explain your
answer.
3. How does manufacturer save money by choosing the right figures for packaging their
product?
