Do These Questions Below by Integrity. If There Is Any Fraud Indication, You Will Automatically Get 0!

The document provides instructions for a preliminary task to determine the porosity of a core sample using a Gas Porosimeter. It asks 7 questions to test understanding of gas porosimeter calibration and measurement principles, factors affecting rock porosity, definitions of direct and indirect porosity measurement, and deriving a correlation to measure grain volume from calibration data. It concludes by wishing the student good luck and encouraging them to study additional reference materials to support understanding of the experiment.

Preliminary Task

Module 1
Determining Porosity of Core Sample with Gas Porosimeter (PORG-200TM)
TM2209 – PETROFISIKA + PRAKTIKUM
2nd Semester – 2018/2019

Do these questions below by integrity. If there is any fraud indication, you will automatically
get 0!
1. Explain the base principle of Gas Porosimeter (PORG-200TM)!
2. Why we need to calibrate the Gas Porosimeter by using calibration disk? Explain!
3. What is the definition of direct and indirect measurement of rock porosity? Give the
example for each of that!
4. How much the greatest value of rock porosity can be formed? Give the analysis!
5. Explain what are factors that affect the sortation and cementation of rock? Give the analysis
how can sortation and cementation of rock can affect the value of rock porosity!
6. Please make the flowchart of this module! Please using the standard shape of flowchart!
7. In 2017, Pertamini drilled TM-2 well in Jambi. They asked LOPI, to perform a Routine
Core Analysis. In order to analyze the gas porosity of rock, LOPI will use PORG-200TM.
Before they used it, PORG-200TM was calibrated by them. They used several calibration
disks, and got several data below:
Vbulk
Calibration Disc (cc) P1 (psig) P2 (psig) P1/P2
1 1.599 100 9.300 10.753
2 4.821 100.1 10.000 10.010
3 6.426 100.4 10.300 9.748
4 9.658 100.1 11.100 9.018
5 16.083 100.1 13.100 7.641
5+1 17.682 100.1 13.700 7.307
5+3 22.509 100.2 16.000 6.263
5+4 25.741 100.2 18.000 5.567
5+4+3 32.167 100.1 23.700 4.224
5+4+3+2 36.987 100.1 31.400 3.188

From the table above, derive the correlation to measure volume of grain! And from the
equation, let you explain how much volume of the PORG-200TM!
Don’t forget to study pertinent material from other resource to support this experiment. Good
luck!
