B. CATEGORY:
The competition will be open to all secondary, collegiate or professional choirs.
C. PARTICIPATION:
1. The Competition is open to all school, church or community-based choral groups in Mindanao.
2. Majority members of each choir should be 15 to 30 years old. Each choir is allowed to field twenty percent (20%)
of the choir membership to those who are more than 30 years old.
3. Conductors are allowed to lead only one competing group.
4. Accompanists are allowed to assist but only for a maximum of two (2) groups.
5. Members of each competing group must submit a copy of Birth Certificate upon submission of entry form.
6. Each group must also submit a copy of their side piece for the use of the judges during the actual competition.
D. NUMBER OF ALLOWED PERFORMERS PER GROUP:
1. Maximum of twenty five (25) singers
2. One (1) conductor
3. One (1) Accompanist
E. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:
Voice Quality (Flexibility of voice, intonation, and vocal range) 40%
Harmony (Blending and balance, phrasing) 30%
Mastery (Dynamics, technique, interpretation) 20%
Stage Presence and Discipline 10%
Allocation of Points
Contest Piece 65%
Side Piece 35%
Total 100%
F. REPERTOIRE:
Each group shall render two (2) Choral pieces: One (1) Contest Piece and One (1) Side Piece.
1. Contest Piece: The contest piece shall be provided by the Organizers.
2. One (1) Side Piece of any contemporary or popular song: A Cappella or with accompaniment regardless of vocal
combination.
3. This competition is imbedded within the Gensan Summer Youth Fest hence presentation should be in show choir
style.

Champion P 50,000.00 + trophy
1ST Runner-up 30,000.00 + trophy
2nd Runner-up 20,000.00 + trophy
Five (5) Consolation Prizes 10,000.00 each

CERTIFICATION
We hereby submit our choral team to the guidelines and criteria set forth by the
Organizers of this competition. Any misrepresentation on our part would be cause for
our disqualification in the said contest. We further certify that all our choir members
qualify to the age requirement of the competition.
