Come on Sean you got this
Yeah keep going man you got this
SEAN
(jumps down from rock and sits down)
Ah (disappointed) i thought i was gonna do it then
MAX
(also sits down near to Sean)
You had man you’ll get it any day now.
just keep trying and you'll get real soon
SEAN
You should try it you'll probably get it before me.
Max
Aha yeah maybe man.
JACK
(walks up hill from the distances and reaches Sean and max and
fist bumps them both)
You alright guys what you doing?
MAX
Just talking man.
JACK
Wanna go climb ?
SEAN
Sure lets do it
Shots of all the guys climbing. The scene cuts to all them
sitting together in a circle on top of one of the rocks
JACK
I'm getting kind of bored of Bouldering all the time
MAX
Why don't you do more rope climbing then so you can go higher
JACK
I don't know it just doesn't do it for me anymore, i am too
use to it i don't get the same thrill i used to. I think i
might free solo the ropes route
SEAN
Seriously thats sketchy man, i wouldnt
MAX
(looks at sean)
Really? I dont think it would be that bad.
(looks back at jack)
If you really want to do it I’ll do it too
JACK
Alright lets do it then
SEAN
You guys are crazy are you really gonna do it ?
MAX
Yeah i am, let’s go look at it
Max, Sean and jack walk to a bigger cliff face and all stand
at the bottom looking up at it
SEAN
You still want to do it?
JACK
Yeah it’s not even that bad I think we could do it, do you
recon you will Sean?
Sean shakes his head then continues to look up at the cliff
MAX
Sean you’re the best out of all of us, you could easily do it
SEAN
I don’t know if you guys do it then tell me and I’ll see how I
feel on the day
MAX
Alright man let us know
JACK
Yeah man if you don’t want to do its cool but it be sick if
all three of us did it, it’s really up to you, anyway I’m
going to head head home now you coming?
SEAN
Yeah
INT – INSIDE OF A LIVING ROOM OF A HOUSE
Max and jack are both sat inside a living room. Max looks down
at his phone and sees that he has a text from Sean saying “I
want to do it” max then clicks on Sean in his contacts and
calls him. In this phone call the camera will cut between max
and Sean.
MAX
Hello?
SEAN
Hey max I’m ready to do it man, when are you guys thinking of
doing it?
MAN
I don’t know man we are probably going to do it this week,
what you doing right now?
SEAN
Nothing to be honest what about you?
MAX
I’m at my house with jack did you want to come over? Yeah
that’s fine get here at like 6 if you can. Yeah alright see
you in a bit, bye.
INT- IN THE LIVING ROOM
Sean, max and jack are all sat in the living room on the sofa
watching the TV.
Sean picks the TV remote and turns off the TV
JACK
What the hell man we were watching that!
MAX
Sean why did you do that? Hello? You good?
SEAN
Um yeah. Did you want to go do the free solo tonight?
JACK
Yeah man I’m down, max you said you wanted to do it what do
you think?
MAX
Umm alight let’s do it, but we will have to wait for a bit and
leave later because I don’t want my mum to know.
Camera cuts to the room being dark and jack is tying his Sean
is stretching his arms. Then the doors open and max walks in
MAX
Alright you guys good to go
Sean and jack nod
Alright let’s leave then
SEAN
Are you guys sure you want to do it?
JACK
Of course man it was my idea.
SEAN
Sick I’m so ready to do it.
Sean, max and jack all leave the house and the camera cuts to
black as the door shuts.
EXT – OUTSIDE BY CLIFF FACE
Sean, jack and max are all stood outside looking up at the
cliff that they are going to free solo climb.
Jack and sean begin to walk up to the wall and max ties his
shoes
MAX
Who’s going first then?
JACK
Is alright I’ll go first guys.
Jack begins to climb up the wall
SEAN
Let’s go jack you got this man!
Jack gets further up the wall
MAX
Come on jack
Jacks fingers start slipping he falls off the wall and hits
his head on a rock and dies.
There is a moment of silence and then Sean and max run over to
see jack
Sean starts to shake jack
SEAN
Jack! Jack!
MAX
Shit man what do we do
SEAN
Takes out his phone and dials 999 and puts the phone to his
ear
SEAN
Yeah, ambulance please
Audience fades out as the scene fades to black
One Year Later
Sean is sitting by jack’s grave and he gets up and starts
walking out of graveyard. He walks down the road and over the
bridge. He walks up to the rocks and to the cliff where jack
died, he stands there in silences just looking at the cliff
and then max walks up behind him and they both stay silent and
look up at the cliff.
Then they both walk forwards and start climbing and the screen
goes black
