Upset, he goes to a local court to shoot hoops in frustration. There he meets a professional basketball player who is impressed by the boy's skills. The player offers to buy the boy any new pair of shoes to replace the ones that were stolen if he can make a shot from half court. The boy makes the shot, and the player takes him to the store to pick out new shoes as a reward for his talent.

Ok mum I’m going out now.


*starts playing basketball in his garden*

*boy walks past a group of thugs on his way home*

*thugs walk up behind boy and grab the back of his bag*

Those are some nice shoes man
BOY
No please don’t they’re new
THUG 2
Even better, take them off
BOY
No I can’t they’re special to me

You sure you can’t?
*pulls out a knife*

BOY
Ok! Ok! Sorry here you go.
*boy takes his shoes off*

*boy runs round the corner bare foot*

Aha cheers man, u seem very angry, where
are your shoes?
*boy looks to the ground*

Some thugs robbed my brand new 4’s when I
was walking home, I saved up for almost a
year to buy them!
PROFESSIONAL
How about this, if you go back to that
half court spot and get it in, I’ll buy
you whatever pair of shoes you like. Sound
good?
BOY
No way. For real?
PROFESSIONAL
Yeah man!
*boy runs to half court and takes a deep breath*
*swish*

PROFESSIONAL
Wow man you got some real talent. Come
I’ll take you to the shoe store.
*boy can’t hide his smile*
