2017/18 Modified Game Models Overview

The document proposes modifications to junior rugby league games for seasons 2017-2018. For 6-7 year olds, the key changes are reducing the field size to 40m x 20m, teams to 6 players, and requiring only 1 pass before a tackle. For 8-9 year olds, the field remains 68m x 30m, teams increase to 8 players, and a 2 pass variation is introduced. Survey results of coaches found support for the modified rules around smaller fields, fewer players, tap restarts, and increased tackles.
