Full Wave Rectifier Overview

A full-wave rectifier produces an output voltage that occurs on each half of the input cycle, with an output frequency that is twice the input frequency. It uses two diodes to conduct during each half cycle. The purpose of the capacitor filter is not to convert AC to DC, but to reduce ripple voltage. A smaller filter capacitor increases the ripple voltage.
