Titan D8/MUX-4X2 Sensor Multiplexer

The TTN-D8/MUX-4X2 digital multiplexing relay board allows up to 8 sensors to be connected and sequentially sampled through 2 analog inputs on a Titan I/O module. It provides relays to switch 2 groups of 4 sensors each. Applications must be tolerant of intermittent sampling at a minimum rate of around 15 seconds. The board is compact at 4" x 2" x 1.5", uses 2.5W of power, and easily installs via a single screw connection to the I/O module.

The Titan D8/MUX-4X2 provides relays for sequential


switching of 2 groups of 4 sensors each into two analog
inputs on the Titan I/O module.

Applications
This module is used in special
applications enabling 2 sets of up to 4
sensors each to share a common
input on the Titan I/O module. For
example, 2 analog inputs on an I/O
module can be used for sampling up
to 4 temperature sensors each. Since
each sensor is switched on
individually and sequentially, any
applications using this type of
configuration must be tolerant of
intermittent sampling and a minimum
sample refresh rate of about 15
seconds.

Alternatives

For sensor multiplexing applications the TTN-D8/MUX-8X1 can multiplex 1 set of 8 sensors
into a single input on Titan I/O module. This uses the smallest possible number of analog
inputs but reduces the minimum sampling frequency. The TTN-D8/MUX-3.0V is identical to
the TTN-D8MUX-8X1 except that it provides on-board 3.0 volt excitation for interfacing with
either Decagon or Spectrum soil moisture sensors.
