Namrata Joshipura's vision is that of a global aesthetic. Her clothing easily
translates across geographies and other artificial constructs such as age, race and
point of view. The Joshipura line fuses contemporary silhouettes with modern
interpretations of artisanal embellishments. Intricately handcrafted embroidery
designs are the unique selling proposition of the designer.
She is a NIFT Delhi graduate. She launched her clothing line in India in 1996
under the "Namrata Joshipura" label. She is also a member of FDCI (Fashion
Design Council of India) and has won several awards and recognitions like India's
Most Promising Fashion Designer 2016 by Network 7 Media Group, etc. She's
trying to incorporate sustainable practices in her business by using recyclable
plastic bags for packaging and shipping of goods, usage of brown paper bags at her
stores etc.
Her clothes are retailed in India in three of her own stores namely:
1. The Kila at Seven Style Mile, New Delhi
2. DLF Emporio, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi
3. D7, Mumbai, Maharashtra
The design house aims at targeting larger audience by selling through various
Multi-brand outlets like, Evoluzione, Elahe, etc; Personal clients; Online portals
like Aza fashion & Pernia's pop up shop and promotional events in cities like
Hyderabad, Ludhiana, Amritsar, etc where they can't reach through other means.
The promotional events usually happens at least once in a month.
The design house sells internationally through: Bon Marche (Paris), Sauce (Dubai),
American Rag (Los Angeles), Beams (Japan), etc.
It's a close knit company where number of employees working across all stores and
offices is 150 approximately and grapevine method of communication runs in the
company which aids the quick decision making and easy management of the crisis
situations.
The Annual Estimated Sales as per 2017 is 10 to 15 crores approximately. Whereas
the company aims at achieving an annual turnover of 50 crores. The company is
also working on a project to launch a range by the name of "NJ"of affordable
fashion for the young and independent women out there who wants to be stylish
and chic within a budget, hence introducing it with a price range of 3000-8000.
With this range, company aims at targeting the untapped market of young women
who aspires to own designer wear but are restricted by a budget.

DEPARTMENTS
1. Design-
Various functions performed by the design department are as follows:
Forecasting for the upcoming seasons.
Develop a storyline or concept around it.
Sourcing of fabrics, embellishment materials, trims etc.
Development of new machine and hand embroidery swatches.
Developing muslins for the new silhouettes of the upcoming season.
Developing CADs for the new designs.
Developing new in-house prints.
Developing new range keeping in mind the feasibility in terms of
costing of the garments made.
Production of samples for the upcoming seasons and/or any
upcoming fashion show.
Working along with the production manager for the costing of new
samples made.
2. Merchandising-
Various functions performed by the merchandising team are as follows:
Production Management- Fulfilling the store replenishment orders,
client orders, Multi-Brand Outlet orders, International buyer's orders,
garments made for promotional events, exhibitions and fashion
shows.
Issuing of purchase requisitions for fabrics, material, trims etc.
Selection of the vendor for dying and printing jobs.
Coordinating with the vendors.
Inventory Management.
Maintaining order sheets and their status of completion.
Working along the design team for costing of new garments made.
Acting as a mediator between the store staff and design team to pass
on the information regarding best selling colours, styles, silhouettes,
and various other customer demands in order to tap more customers.
Giving approval to accounts department for the bills relevant to their
department.
Scheduling delivery dates considering the lead times from various
vendors.
3. Sales, Marketing and Public Relations-
The main target of this team is to create a larger customer base for the
brand by creating awareness and to achieve target sales/profits for the
company. Various functions performed by this department are as follows-
Track the sales of the merchandise at all the locations where the
products are available.
To take care of the marketing aspect of the brand .
To conduct timely surveys in order to find out the feedback of the
customers.
To take care of the sales aspect during the field booking in the trade
show.
To take care of the visual merchandising in all the stores of the brand.
To manage the website and all social media platforms of the brand.
To co-ordinate with celebrity stylists, magazines, etc to send
garments for marketing and PR.
To coordinate with international buyers, multi brand outlets and
online portals for orders.
4. Accounts and Finance-
Various functions performed by this department are as follows-
To handle the financial aspect of the company with repsect to
payments to be made to the vendors and the factories for the
production of the merchandise.
Reimbursement to employees
To track daily sales report.
To calculate working capital.
To manage bills of stores, office and factory.
To manage due payment of tax.
