INTRODUCTION TO THE COMPANY
STAYFIT GYM
2
Stay fit gym is located in Motera, right on the sarder patel stadium road. It is on a busy street and is hence easily
visible to passing cars and is well known by the residents of the area. It has three trainers working hard to deliver
fitness and one main instructor who is the head and mentor of all the other three. The keen interest of [Link]
Maurya, the owner of the stayfit gym and his desire of seeing healthy individuals including his desperate ambition
of giving back to his city had brought him in the profession by 2004.
Days and years went by and his burning desire brought him to the level of framing STAY FIT GYM in 2010 after
providing training in major health clubs in Ahmedabad. He and his team has professional skills to train people.
The stay fit gym is well known for its quality, ambience and friendly but professional atmosphere. New services
are introduced daily which contribute to the growth and excellence of the gym. These services include cardio,
weight training, yoga, zumba, kickboxing, aerobics, personal training, etc. The gym operates from Monday to
Sunday 5AM to 12 noon and then 5PM to 10PM.
The communication channels in the gym are informal due to the small size of the same. Since there is only one
senior with only three employees under him, a complex structure would be unsuited for our organisation. The
owner and the main head, henceforth imparts his instructions to the sub trainers verbally and informally and there
is hardly any written record of the same. There are only three direct stakeholders of the company at large. These
are the members of the gym, the sub trainers and the head trainer/owner. Keeping these three involved parties in
mind, there are a total of five communication channels in the gym. These are as follows:
1) Head trainer/owner – sub trainer: imparting of instructions to be given to the members.
2) Sub trainer – sub trainer: Discussions about their professional and personal lives.
3) Sub trainer – member: Exchanges about what exercise to do and how to do them. Members may
occasionally also communicate about any grievance or body aches they may be having because of the
exercises.
4) Member – member: discussions about the gym, their exercises and personal stuff.
5) Member – head trainer: occasional feedback

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT OF THE GYM
Physical location:
Placed on the road leading the Sardar Patel stadium, the stay fit gym is very easily spottable by anyone wanting
to look for it. It has a huge well lit signboard which makes the process even easier. Due to metro construction, the
road is currently blocked in many places which has made commutation a little bit difficult, yet the ready
availability of parking is a relief to all the gym members. Also, the walls surrounding the stairs that lead to the
gym are covered with posters of the gym which make it easy for anyone to identify which way to go. Hence, we
can conclude that the visibility of the gym is exactly as required as can be evidently seen from pictures 1, 2 & 3

Sections in the gym:
a) THE ENTRANCE – On entering the gym, the first thing you see is a waiting room with the head
trainer’s table. This is where you can expect to find the owner, Mr. Hitendra Maurya at all times. He is
accessible to anybody coming in with queries regarding the gym membership and is also accessible to the
existing members of the gym for any feedback or grievance reporting.

Strategically placed right in front of the table is the achievement wall of the gym with the certificates that
the gym and the trainers have won in various competitions. It’s right over the sofa put up for visitors. This
is to impress anyone who enters the gym and also to keep reminding the trainers of how far they’ve come
and how far they’re yet to go. Adjacent to this wall is the wall with the notice board where the fees
structure, important announcements and contact details of all gym trainers are put up.

corner is a weighing machine so members can weigh themselves on entering or before leaving the gym.
There’s a door towards the end of the waiting room to enter the main gym with a electro-magnetic thumb
print scanner to record who’s coming in and who’s leaving and oon what time. It is both for members as
well as trainers. The door only opens when a recognised thumb is scanned. Hence providing security and
ensuring nobody enters the gym unmonitored.

where recordings of important events of the gym keep playing as a kind of promotion.
b) THE CARDIO SECTION – first thing you see on entering the main gym after leaving the waiting
room is the cardio area with various cardio machines. This area is air conditioned and well lit. The blinds
are open till there’s sunlight outside. Only after sunset are the lights turned on. There’s a television and a
clock on the front wall of the cardio area to keep the working-out members entertained and occupied.
