At the end of this episode, you will be competent in identifying possible linkages between the school
and the community particularly those that will help attain curricular goals.
Your Tasks
For the school to succeed in winning the support of the community, it is necessary for the teacher to
identify areas for linkages. To reach your goal, follow these tasks:
Step 1 Visit the community where the school is located.
Step 2 Gather information about the issues/concerns and
problems that may affect the school. Also, gather information
about the resources found in the community.
Step 3 Analyze the possible linkages that the school and
community may forget.
Step 4 Reflect on the role of the teacher as a member of the
community.
