Re: Kristen Yager Reference

Kristen was a valuable addition to Vincent Massey School as a Student Teacher during
lhe 2017-2018 school year. Throughout her teaching practicum, Kristen was able to
observe a variety of teachers and teaching styles within the Physical Education
Department. Kristen used this opportunity to gain insight into expanding and creating
her own unique teaching style.

Kristen planned and implemented several units in Grade 7-9 Physical Ecjucation
including: Badminton, Track and Field and Low Organized Games. She developed
new warm-up games, classroom materials and most importantly gained experience
and confidence commanding a class in a gym setting. Kristen asked for feedback on a
daily basis and accepted and utilized constructive criticism to improve her teaching
practice.

Kristen also took on the challenge of planning and teaching the Human Sexuality Unit
to her Grade 7 and Grade B classes. Her lessons were creative, engaging and she
demonstrated her awareness of different learning styles by adequately adjusting
lessons and assignments to meet the varied needs of her students.

ln addition to her teaching assignment, Kristen was able to participate in Professional

Development Days, Parent Teacher Interviews, and gained valuable knowledge on
various teaching applications including: D2LlBrightspace, SIRS and IRIS.

Kristen has entered this careerwith thoughtful intent. She is punctual, prepared,
collaborative, approachable, flexible and is dedicated to the needs of her students. She
will be a valuable member of any teaching staff and an asset to the teaching
profession.
