سورة المزمل- AL- MUZZAMMIL - The compatible
friend
Introduction:
The script is written in 3rd, 2nd & 1st person by the respected author. Surah Al -
Muzzammil is an internal dialogue between the consciousness and the
researcher/thinker. The Rabb addresses the thinker as O Dear friend, in a very
benevolent manner. Here the researchers are addressed as the main protagonist
of this script. Our consciousness is the main character of this surah or for that
matter it won't be an exaggeration if I say our consciousness is the main character
of this entire book. A master piece of all times. The respected author is very well
aware of the troubles taken by the researchers to wipe out the phase of anxiety or
period of ignorance. Researcher is actually an analyst, scientist, investigator,
experimentalist, clinician or tester. These dedicated souls dedicate their entire life
for a certain purpose in a certain field. This surah is an eulogy to such persons on
behalf of the respected author for their untiring work in their respective fields.
Keeping in mind the pressure bear by researchers, this eulogy is presented as a
consolation and motivation to him so that he carries forward his work earnestly,
without worrying about its full completion and consequences. I don't think the
surah needs further explanation as it is easy to understand.
Interpretation:

O Dear, the compatible friend
2 قلمم الزلليل ي إمزل يقمليلل
Stop the worrying but some
3 صيفله أيمو انقل ل
ص مملنله يقمليلل من ل
Do justice to it or diminish from it somewhat
4 أيلو مزلد يعيلليمه يويرمتمل اللقللرآين يتلرمتيلل
Or grow upon it and arrange the expression in a distinct way
5 سلنللمقي يعيللييك يقلولل يثمقيلل
إمزنا ي
Indeed, We will find for you a weighty diction (way out)
6 شيد يولطلئا يوأيلقيولم مقيلل
إمزن ينامشيئية الزلليمل مهيي أي ي
Indeed, growing up in the anxious atmosphere is a very tense sojourn but also
somewhat manageable
7 سلبلحا يطمويلل
إمزن لييك مفي الزنيهامر ي
Indeed, for you in the abundance (flow of thoughts) is prolonged striving
8 يوالذلكمر السيم يرمبيك يويتيبزتلل إمليليمه يتلبمتيلل
Along with the remembrance identify your Consciousness and devote yourself
towards Hm with complete devotion

The place of rising and setting of Consciousness, there is
no ilah (attraction) except He (the consciousness) so take Him as the disposer of
affair
10 صمبلر يعيلـى يما ييلقوللوين يوالهلجلرلهلم يهلجلرا يجمميلل
يوا ل
And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance
11 يويذلرمني يوالللميكمذمبيين لأوملي الزنلعيممة يويممهلللهلم يقمليلل
And leave Me alone to deal with the deniers who resort to luxurious life, and
allow them respite somewhat.
12 إمزن يليدليينا يأنيكالل يويجمحيلما
Indeed, with Us is exemplary punishment and a labyrinth
13 صةة يويعيذالبا أيمليلما
يويطيعالما يذا لغ ز
And possessing of intelligence that obstructs, furthermore a painful chastisement -
14 ت اللمجيبال ل يكمثيلبا زممهيلل ف الليلر ل
ض يواللمجيبال ل يويكاين م ييلويم يتلرلج ل
That moment the lower conscious would be in commotion and the strongest will become the strongest
heap of dust crumbling down.
15 سول ل شامهلدا يعليليلكلم يكيما أيلر ي

سللينا إمليليلكلم ير ل
Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a
messenger.
16 سول ي يفأ ييخلذيناهل أيلخلذا يومبيلل يفيع ي
صـى فملريعلولن الزر ل
But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.
17 ف يتزتلقوين مإن يكيفلرلتلم ييلولما ييلجيعل ل اللمولليداين مشيلبا

Then how can you be diligent, if you are ignorant, a moment that will make what you have brought
forth would be hoary ?
18 سيمالء لمنيفمطرر مبمه يكاين يولعلدهل يملفلعولل

The higher consciousness will germinate therefrom; anytime his destiny fulfilled.

Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever desire may take a path to his Consciousness.

Indeed, your Consciousness knows, that you almost stop the anxiety from rising threefold, rather do
justice to it, besides rising further threefold, plus circumvent from those who are with you. Furthermore
the System determines the extent of the anxiety and the long tedious route. He (your
consciousness) has known that you will not be able to do it and has turned to you consoling, so
express what is easy from the expression. He has known that there will be among you who
are (mentally) sick and others who multiply the lower consciousness seeking unnecessary things from
the System and others knowing very well the path of System. So express what is easy from it and
establish the commitment and deliver it with purity and deal with the System a goodly deal. And
whatever good you put forward, it is for yourselves - you will find it with the System. It is better and
greater in reward. And seek cover-up/protection of the System. Indeed, the System is a favorable
cover/protector.

compatible friend, The dependable friend, A friend who can bear the burden of
his friend and is inseparable.

= A stream which is flowing with force, channel, copoious, abundance
emergence of sunlight, dawn
= يرمبيك Your consciousness, your mind, lord, nourisher

Argument with thorough knowledge, Fighting someone with complete knowledge. مقتل
-means temple (part between eyes & ear) - 3rd person masculine plural (form III)

BRIEF:
The lesson from this surah is that the relationship of our consciousness with us,
is very crucial. Our relationship with our consciousness should be like that of a
baby in the womb of his/her mother an inseparable bonding. Then there will be
unstoppable flow of nourishment from the System, the Rehmaan, the Raheem.
Provided our commitment should be sincere and genuine. Establishment of Salat
and delivering of Zakat is for our own consciousness and is termed as good deal
with the System which we can get back from the System in the form of Peace.
Here the System is Rabb our Allah. Peace and Tranquility is very precious, it is
the best deal of all deals.
PROBLEM WITH OTHER TRANSLATIONS:
The problem with the other translations is that they attribute some surahs only to
the exalted messenger thus confining its message solely to the personality of the
noble messenger. The message of the Quran is for people who wants to
understand it. To attribute the timeless message exclusively to the respected
messenger is an injustice to the entire Quran and its essence. Locking or
confining our understanding with the fabricated ritualistic events to understand
the immemorial message and further relating it with prominent personalities is
unpardonable cruelty with the message and the efforts of the immaculate
messenger.
The traditional translators wants to promote ritualistic salat as according to them
the prophet used to stand whole night in worshiping, so Allah instructed him
through this surah that he has to stand only 1/3rd of the night as he has other
occupation in the day. Like preparing for "the holy war called Jihad" is a heavy
responsibility on the shoulders of the prophet. There is nothing for a common
man in this surah according to traditionalist interpretations.
