Script 1

This script is for a short film about a child playing hide and seek with his father. The child hides in the kitchen cabinet at first. When his father finds him they agree to play again, with the father hiding this time. The child counts and then sees the father get attacked and killed by intruders in the home. The child then tries to escape while calling for help but is found by one of the intruders just as the script ends.

In order to complete this correctly, you need to add stage directions for
your actors

Hide and seek


A short film by Dylan Coates, George Wilson, Joseph Ruffell, Sam
gates

INT. KITCHEN
Charlie is hiding in cabinet, you can see through the cabinet
through a small slit in the door. The robbers walk by you can see
his waist down. Lighting is dark your can only just see his legs.

CHARLIE
(kid is heavily breathing but is trying to keep quite to keep him
hidden.)

INT. KITCHEN
It’s the same shot but this time it’s a bit lighter and suddenly the
door is opened like it’s a robber but it’s the dad and sunlight
fills the room.

DAD
(happily) Found you! Ok go ahead and count I bet you won’t find me!

CHARLIE
I will find you, I’m counting.. 1, 2 ,3

INT. BED
When the kid opens his eyes, he is under the bed and sees his dad
get stabbed/hit with hammer. He then sees the body fall to the floor
and the head of his dad face is next his head. When the robber
leaves he drops his phone, but he doesn’t notice however the kid
notices and it pull focus on the phone.
ROBBER
OVER HERE!

INT. HALL
Kid trips over just as he picks up the phone and gets through to a
hallway. It’s a first person view and goes black then when he looks
up it is a flash back of his dad picking him up and hugging.

DAD
Don’t worry I’m here.
INT. CLOSET
Kid blinks and then finds a closet to hid in. he goes to call the
emergency services and then the robber walk past he suddenly jumps,
and the robber just misses him.

INT. HALL
Shot on the robber as he hears a feint ringing for a while and it
follows him as he tries to find the sound. After about 20 seconds he
finally opens the closet where the kid is hiding before we see him
catch Charlie the scene cuts to black.
