2-COMMERCE
It’s the business of buying and selling products and services
A merchant buys a product from a producer at a certain price
The merchant sells the product to a consumer to a higher price
The difference between these two prices is the merchant’s profit
Types:
International commerce Domestic commerce
Between 2 or more countries inside one country
Types of retail businesses
Supermarkets and department stores Speciality shops
Large businesses that sell many different products sell one type of product or service
Outside towns and cities in the city centre or in shopping centres

3- PRICES, ADVERTISING AND CONSUMPTION
PRICE
How much a product or service costs in money.
It depends on: supply and demand
How much of a product or service there is to sell how much of a product or a service people want to buy

ADVERTISING
It tells consumers about a product or a service and encourages them to buy it
CONSUMPTION
We use a variety of products and services.
Sometimes we consume more products and services than we really need
We need to practise responsible consumption:
